Veronica had been with chuck since she moved to Riverdale 3 years ago. Everything was perfect up until a couple of weeks ago. Chuck had a short temper and it was showing more often.

Usually, for date night, they would meet up at pops and they would take it turns to surprise one another on where they were going. But now, Chuck insisted that they go to his house and just chill. Veronica was getting bored way to easily from the same thing all the time, she wanted to be adventurous again, but chuck was having none of it.

"So I was thinking of going to the movies tonight? Watch the new film?" Veronica asked Chuck at school.

"Nah, I've had a busy day with football and we have the big game coming up so why don't we just chill in mine tonight? My mom wants to make us food."

"Again?" Veronica asked whilst they sat on the bench around the back of the school.

"So what now you don't wanna hang out with me anymore?" Chuck snapped.

"Of course I want to hang out but not if we're going to do the same thing over and over again." Veronica sighed.

"Fine, do you're own thing. Enjoy." Chuck said has he walked away. Veronica sighed knowing that she made Chuck mad but she knew he'd come running back, because this had happened before.

"Everything okay?" Archie said walking past.

"Hey Arch, everything's alright I suppose."

"You wanna talk?"

"Why not..." Veronica hesitated, she knew opening up to Archie, Chucks enemy, would come at a price for her.

"Look If you don't wanna say you don't have to." Archie said.

"No I want to. It's Chuck. He's getting hard to love these days." Veronica explained.

"Ronnie it's okay not to love someone back mind." Archie said.

"But it's me and Chuck. It was great the first two years. We loved each other so much and now it's just one way. I can't put up with someone who hurts me and then makes me feel like I'm the bad one." Veronica said, it was the first time she had opened up or even thought like this.

"What do you mean hurt?"

"Not like that, just it hurts when I'm supposed to be the one that he looks forward to seeing and making sure that I'm okay. But it's not. It's like he hates me."

"Just because he's not making you his punchbag, it's still bad. He's affecting you mentally Ronnie." Archie said.

"What should I do Archie?" As soon as Veronica asked that question, Chuck came back around the corner.

"Archie? What the hell you doing with my girl?"

"Chuck it's nothing just leave it. Come on let's get food." Veronica said before anything could start.

"I'll talk later." Veronica mother to Archie whilst her and Chuck walked away.

That night...
Archie kept messaging Veronica checking if she was okay. He was her best friend, of course he was gonna check up on her and she would answer back.

"Who you texting all the time?" Chuck said whilst he slouched on his couch.

"My friends." Veronica said.

"Stop lying, I know it's not your friends." Chuck replied.

"God chuck! Can you just trust me?! I can't deal with it anymore. You can't expect me to hide and not speak to anyone because I'm with you."

"What the hell has gotten into you?" Chuck yelled.

"You! You're a pain in the ass! For some reason you've changed a lot. You've become a nightmare boyfriend. I get it that you want to protect me and keep me safe. But you're the one that's hurting me. You yell and scream at me, you treat me like shit! I'm sorry chuck but we're done." Veronica finally let out. All of a sudden, Chuck raised his hand and slapped Veronica. She hit the floor, she felt her whole cheek go red and taste the blood from her lips.

"Get out of here, don't you ever come back." Chuck said. Veronica grabbed her things and rushed out. She called Archie, seeming he would be the only one to help her.
