Happy Birthday! (Beronica)

Veronica woke up to her mom walking in with a tray full of fruit, orange juice and some birthday cards on the side.

"Happy Birthday mija, finally 18." Hermione said handing over the tray.

"Thank you mom, where's Daddy?"

"He's been caught up at work this morning." Veronica's face dropped.

"At least I'm still having my hair done and nails right?" Veronica asked.

"Of course mija, by the way Archie stopped by and wanted to give you this, he would've given it himself but he was late for work." Hermione handed her a small gift box.

"I'll have it later." Veronica said.

"Veronica I know things ended badly between you two but at least give him another chance."

"Mom not today, it's my birthday, I'm going out tonight and forgetting all my problems, just for one night." Veronica said sipping her juice.

That night....
Cheryl came over to get ready whilst Veronica was still picking out a dress.

"So you and Archiekins?" Cheryl started.

"There's no way in hell are we getting back together, I haven't even opened his gift yet." Veronica replied.

"So you're single for tonight?"

"Cheryl, for a change, I'm not going out tonight to see if I can 'score' with some hot guy, I'm going out to have fun with my girls." Veronica assured.

"Boring. I hope you don't mind if I do the opposite." Cheryl said applying her red lip stick.

"Do what you please but I'm avoiding relationships right now like the plague." Veronica said. She finally picked an outfit. She decided to go for something that was usual for her yet also different, she wore a black leather jacket, a dark blouse with some black jeans and left her hair curly. And for a change, she put in diamond earrings.

"Ready-"

"Oh no where do you think you two are going? Photos first!" Hermione said stopping Cheryl and Veronica walking out.

"But first put that present Archie got you on." Cheryl insisted. Veronica sighed and reached for the gift box. She opened it and found a locket with a V engraved. She put it on and posed for the picture with Cheryl and her mom. They finally made it to the club, they met Valerie, Melody and Josie outside.

"Www girl you looking hot!" Josie said to Cheryl.

"Mhm what about the special birthday girl." Valerie said.

"If I may say so myself, you are even better." Josie insisted. "Especially now that you're single."

They all walked in and headed straight to the bar. Veronica could feel that thee was someone staring at her, she turned to her left and saw a face she recognised, Betty Cooper. She had never really spoken to her but they were in class together. Betty smirked whilst Veronica waved.

"I'll have a double vodka and lemonade." Veronica asked the bartender, she looked back to see if Betty was there, she was gone. Veronica was confused, how could she have gone in the space of 4 seconds. All of a sudden she felt someone tap her shoulder. She turned around and was face to face with Betty.

"Hey, you're Veronica right?" Betty said.

"Yeah and you're Betty." Veronica replied. They talked for a while but then Betty had an idea.

"So wanna Dance?" Betty asked.

"Umm yeah why not." Veronica agreed, they made their way to the dance floor, as soon as they started dancing a slow song came on. Typical, Veronica thought. She'd never really been attracted to girls before but there was something about Betty that she liked. Betty placed her arms on Veronica's waist whilst Veronica put hers on Betty's shoulders.

"I know it's a bit late but happy birthday." Betty wished.

"How'd you know?"

"The big 18th birthday badge give it away." Betty laughed.

"Blame Cheryl for that one." All of a sudden Betty kissed Veronica. Veronica didn't know what to do but follow Betty.

"Wanna come back to my place?" Betty asked. Veronica hesitated but remembered what Cheryl had said to her a few weeks ago- "Take risks."

Veronica nodded, "Sure." Betty grabbed Veronica's hand and guided her out of the club. It was clear to say that Veronica definitely liked girls by the end of the night.
