Detention (Jeronica)

Jughead sat in the same seat he's always had at the end of the school day at 4:30pm. This room was known for after school detention. Jughead was a regular.

"Look, Mr Weatherbee. Let's say I do double time tomorrow... the serpents need me right now." Jughead lied whilst he placed his feet up on the desk.

"I don't think so Mr Jones." Has Weatherbee answered, the door opened and in walked a raven beauty.

"Miss Lodge you are late." Weatherbee stated.

"Sorry there was a huge discount for online shopping at Hermes." She replied.

"Take a seat." Weatherbee ordered. Veronica looked around the room only to see one other person... someone who she never got along with. She sighed and sat on the desk at the back.

"Miss Lodge could you sit next to jughead? I need to keep an eye on both of you and I can't do that with you all the way at the back." Weatherbee asked. Veronica didn't understand why he couldn't see her in an empty classroom with only one other person in there, but she didn't want to get on his bad side anymore than she already was. She sighed again and followed his order.

"Kids I'll be back, I'm trusting you to behave for at least 10 minutes." Weatherbee said before he rushed off. They both nodded. The first two minutes consisted of pure silence mixed with awkwardness.

"So... what's your crime?" Jughead asked whilst drawing on the desk.

"Standing up for women's rights... which I don't understand is a crime. But there you go... this is a patriarchal society after all." Veronica started.

"Oh please... the girls here get treated better than the serpents."

"I beg to differ. Women are treated like objects here. No one did anything when Chuck made that stupid list of girls that he tried to bed." Veronica stated.

"Because that would involve a lot of lawyers and court cases that this school can't afford." Jughead said. Veronica stayed silent. "Are you going to Archie's party Saturday night?" Jughead asked.

"I'm not sure yet. My parents are furious that I have detention. And plus me and Archie are exes... it wouldn't end well."

"What did you even see in him?" Jughead asked. Veronica replied with a shocked look on her face. "What?" Jughead asked.

"Oh nothing... just the fact that you and Archie are best friends and you're questioning why a girl would go out with him."

"We were best friends. I don't know, he's changed. For the worse. He's dating Betty now."

"Yeah... I know." Veronica said has she looked down at her nails.

"Sorry... touchy subject?" Jughead asked.

"No it's okay. I... I have to talk about it at some point." Veronica kept her head down. Jughead reached forward and gently lifted her head back up with his hand. When their eyes met Jughead could see the pain Veronica was hiding. He leaned forward and kissed her. Veronica pulled back but shortly after she went back in, but before they could start again the door swung open and in walked Weatherbee along with Mr Lodge.

"Daddy?"

"Come on Veronica." Hiram said.

"You're free to go Miss Lodge." Weatherbee said, clearly Hiram had made a 'deal' for Veronica's bail. She got up and walked over to the door. Before she left she turned around and looked at Jughead.

"See you around Jones." She smirked. Jughead couldn't believe what just happened. Even though they hated each other, there was something about Veronica...
