Veronica rushed into Betty's room after school and pushed Betty onto the bed. Betty started to unbutton Veronica's top whilst they started kissing until Betty's front door opened.
"Wait! It's my mom!" Betty panicked.
"I thought she was cool with us?" Veronica asked buttoning up her top.
"She is, but she specifically said no make out sessions or anything else for that matter to happen under the Cooper house." Betty said trying to fix her smudged lipgloss.
"Anyway, what are you going to wear tomorrow night?" Veronica asked looking through Betty's wardrobe.
"Betty I'm just popping out to the grocery store." Alice yelled up just before leaving.
"Well I can think of something better to do than pick an outfit out..." Betty said unbuttoning Veronica's top, again.
The next evening...
Betty looked at herself in the mirror as she wondered if this outfit said that she was suitable enough to date Veronica. Tonight was the night Veronica was introducing Betty has a girlfriend rather than a 'friend'. Betty wanted to make a good impression even though she had already met Hermione plenty of times before.
Veronica was sitting with her mom waiting for the doorbell to ring to break the awkward silence.
"So can I at least have a clue about what you need to tell me tonight?" Hermione asked.
"You'll find out when I say!" Veronica said. Just after, the doorbell rang.
"Finally." Veronica whispered under her breath. She rushed over to the door and welcomed Betty in. She looked beautiful, Veronica had the urge to kiss her but couldn't has her mom was watching them like a Hawke.
"Evening Betty, so nice of you to join us." Hermione said. Betty sat next to Veronica whilst food was being served.
"Thank you for having me." Betty
"So, mom, the news-" Veronica started. Hermione put her cutlery down and wiped her mouth.
"Well... what is it?" Hermione asked worriedly. Betty grabbed hold of Veronica's shaking hand and whispered,
"It's okay."
"Me and Betty are more than friends." Veronica announced. Hermione face dropped.
"So you mean-"
"Girlfriends, Mrs Lodge." Betty interrupted.
"Well, that's not the news I was expecting. No wonder you didn't invite Archie over the other night." Hermione said taking a gulp of her wine.
"I can't tell if you're happy or not." Veronica said still griping onto Betty's hand.
"I think it's gonna take me a while to get used to it. Wait till your father finds out." Hermione panicked.
"Mom what's the big deal? I like girls?!" Veronica yelled finally letting go of Betty's hand.
"You've been lying to us Veronica! I'm disappointed that you didn't tell me sooner. I thought we had a better relationship than this. And the fact that you're dating her..."Hermione said standing up and walking into her bedroom. Veronica started to cry.
"Maybe you should go and talk to her. Make her understand that it wasn't easy for even you to accept it." Said Betty comforting Veronica. Veronica kissed Betty just before getting up and going to her moms bedroom.
She walked in to see her mom crying. Veronica rushed over and sat next to her.
"Is it really that bad?" Veronica asked.
"It's not that I'm against you liking girls. It's the fact that you've kept this thing a secret from me. I love you for who you are mija, if you like girls then you do. There's nothing wrong with that." Hermione said.
"So why say those things about Betty? You don't get it...Betty is amazing. I love her, I really do, she means so much to me and I don't know what I'd do without her. She supports everything I do and stands by my side when I need her." Veronica said.
"I just don't want you getting hurt." Hermione said.
"Mhm I would never hurt your daughter Mrs Lodge." Betty said entering the conversation.
"Actions speak louder than words."
"I know Mrs Lodge but I can guarantee you I will never hurt Veronica. I love her and I'd be lost without her." Betty assured.
