The Ring (Beronica)

It was New Years Eve and Veronica had just finished work when Betty texted her saying that she needed to talk to her tonight at a party that Betty's parents held every year. Veronica's heart sunk. Her and Betty had been a little rocky for a while due to their busy work schedules, but Veronica thought that if they can get through University together then they could accomplish anything together. They had been living together for nearly 4 years now and it was the best 4 years Veronica ever had. She needed a new outfit before meeting Betty at the party so she went to her local department store and tried to find the perfect outfit.

On the other side of town, Betty was picking out the engagement ring for Veronica. She knew Veronica wanted a specific ring so it had to be 100% perfect. The only issue was... they were all pricey.  But Betty knew Veronica was the one. Once the ring was picked she had to sort out the rest of the evening such has helping her mom cook the food and book the fireworks. But of course before all of that she had to pick an outfit, it was a special night for Betty too.

Finally, the time was running out and Betty became more nervous by the minute. Everyone from their pasts including Archie, Jughead and Cheryl attended the party. Veronica still had no clue what Betty had planned. Before the fireworks at midnight it was tradition to go around the family and friends and say what was their peak and pit of the year. Betty was last.

"Betty darling what's yours?" Alice asked sipping some rose wine.

"Well, the pit of my year was probably not speaking to you guys for ages because you all moved town..." Betty giggled. "But seriously, I missed you guys." Betty said looking at Archie, Jug and Cheryl.

"And you're peak?"

"I know this sounds cringey but being able to come home everyday and just knowing that there's someone waiting for you. It's probably the best feeling you'll ever have I suppose. Especially when V makes a awesome dinner." Betty smirked whilst everyone was in awe.

"Love you." Veronica mouthed just before kissing Betty.

"Okay enough you two... you might be old enough now Betty but you're under my roof... my rules." Alice joked. Betty looked at her phone the time was 23:50. She gasped whilst grabbing Veronica's arm and dragging her outside. The rest of the family followed. It was snowing and there were already fireworks going off from other neighbours.

"Betty what's wrong? It's freezing!" Veronica laughed. Betty's heart pounded as time went on. She took a deep breath.

"You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, who would've thought that we'd make it this long, we are the most stubbornest, argumentative, bitchiest, if they're even words, people there are in Riverdale" Betty giggled.  "But you know what... that's why i love you. You're are literally my everything Veronica Lodge." Betty smiled. She pulled the ring out of her back pocket and slowly got down on one knee. Veronica gasped only now realising what was actually going to happen.

"So... Will you, Miss Veronica Lodge, marry me?" Betty asked. Veronica smiled, the biggest smile she's ever done. Without a doubt Veronica screamed, "Yes! Of course!" Betty pushed the diamond ring onto Veronica's finger and they kissed. The fireworks started to go off whilst the rest of the family came outside and congratulated the couple. Veronica couldn't believe what had just happened, obviously Veronica already stated to panic about finding the perfect dress...but what she did know was that she was glad she was going to spend the rest of her life with Betty Cooper.
