"Where do you think you're going?" Kevin said laying in bed whilst Joaquin got up.

"I'm late for the serpents meeting." He replied.

"I was hoping we could get breakfast." Kevin suggested.

"You were the one that said, 'no strings attached' remember?" Joaquin said.

"Getting breakfast... that doesn't scream out I need you to be my boyfriend does it?" Kevin joked.

"No... but I know what you're like Kevin. You get attached easily then end up getting heartbroken." Joaquin said grabbing his leather jacket.

"I just want one meal, I think it's better we get to know each other before anything else happens." Kevin said.

"That's when feelings start to develop. I'm gonna be late, same time tonight?" Joaquin snapped. Kevin sighed just before he agreed.

"Fine, same time. I'll see you tonight." Kevin rolled over to face the other way and tried to get some more sleep.

At School...
"I think you should stop seeing him Kev." Veronica said slurping on her slush.

"Why Veronica? Just because you're not getting any right now?" Kevin snapped.

"Harsh... but seriously you're gonna get hurt. When you realise Joaquin just wants you for... you know... then you're precious little heart is going to shatter into a million pieces." Veronica continued.

"And then you can say 'I told you so' okay?" Kevin said.

"I'm just-"

"Alright Veronica!" Kevin yelled. Veronica was surprised, something had changed in Kevin. Veronica grabbed her things and went to class early. Kevin sighed has he knew he Veronica was right. But she didn't change his mind about meeting up with Joaquin tonight.

"Joaquin, can we talk?" Kevin asked just like every night.

"Okay, fine." Joaquin said.

"Will you ever see me as something more?" Kevin wondered.

"I've told you this before." Joaquin sighed.

"Yeah but things have changed." Kevin began.

"How?"

"You practically live here now. My dad doesn't mind you and he's the sheriff... and you know I think we should maybe start dating." Kevin said.

"You know how I feel about relationships." Joaquin sighed.

"I get it, that your past relationships were failures but I'm not like them guys. I know how to treat you properly, I would never hurt you, you know that." Kevin explained.

"If it'll shut you up, fine. One date." Joaquin agreed.

"Anywhere specific?" Kevin agreed with excitement.

"How about you let me take you out?" Joaquin suggested.

"Has long as it's safe." Kevin smirked.

"Get changed." Joaquin said grabbing his trousers.

"What right now?" Kevin said.

"Yeah, come on." Joaquin demanded. Kevin got up and got dressed. Joaquin dragged him outside and got on his bike.

"Woah! I don't think so." Kevin said.

"Come on, if you want a date... this is the first step." Joaquin smirked. Kevin wondered for a bit but then got on. He placed a helmet on and held on to him tightly, like his life depended on it... in this case... it did. Joaquin drove them to the serpent bar. Kevin was a little disappointed but this was a date... with Joaquin. He was willing to try anything.

"We'll have two beers." Joaquin ordered.

"Well, you've seen my home and this is yours..." Kevin said.

"Yep, here." Joaquin said giving the beer to Kevin.

"It's a lil early don't you think?"

"It's happy hour somewhere in the world right?" Joaquin said. Kevin drank it anyway, he felt a lil intimidated due to the serpents looks given to Kevin. He was the only one in there without a tattoo or a serpent jacket.

"Sooo, where's the next stop?" Kevin asked.

"There isn't. I like it here, I'm comfortable here." Joaquin said. For a moment, Kevin started to see what Veronica meant. He slammed his drink down and decided to head home. He was hoping he would be behind him following but there was no sign of him. Kevin could feel the pit in his stomach getting bigger, he wanted to cry but knew to keep it in till he got home. All of a sudden his phone bleeped.

Joaquin- Same time tonight?

Kevin deleted the message and turned his phone off, he was sick of being someone's 'booty call'. He was ready for a relationship and he wanted one now, not some guy that used him. He called Veronica and hoped to have a night in watching old movies.
