Cheryl sat outside on the bench whilst ditching cheer practice. This was a huge deal has she was cheer captain. It wasn't like her to ditch any of her classes anyway. She couldn't help but be secluded from everyone at this time has her and Josie had broken up. It was a horrific break up and it didn't end well at all. Meanwhile, in cheer practice Veronica noticed that Cheryl wasn't here and went looking for her. She walked all the way through the school and there was no sign. She walked outside and around the back of the school which was off grounds.
"There you are!" Veronica said walking over to her.
"Hey Ronnie." Cheryl sighed.
"You're late for practice." Veronica stated the obvious.
"Yeah I'm not feeling it today." Cheryl said.
"Maybe it was because you were partying hard last night in Chucks birthday party..." Veronica said.
"I can't even remember half of it." Cheryl admitted.
"I'm not surprised, you've been acting out since-"
"Yeah I know, since Josie. I can't help it, I loved her Ronnie but it's best we part ways and get on with our lives. If we were meant to be together then we would still be together today." Cheryl said, she always told herself that ending things with Josie was the right thing to do as they were constantly arguing and being completely fine after it. In Cheryl's eyes thy wasn't a relationship.
"Ugh I'm so sick of being the fixer in everyone's relationship recently..." Ronnie started.
"What you mean?" Cheryl asked.
"One day you're going to see her holding hands with someone who took your chance. She won't even notice you because she'll be too busy laughing at the stupid jokes she makes, and it will burn your heart seeing that beautiful smile on her face and realising you're not the reason anymore. And then it will finally hit you..."
"What will?" Cheryl spoke.
"That it was always her, it will always be her." Ronnie said. The school bell rang. What Veronica said got to Cheryl a lot. She couldn't sleep all night, she kept tossing and turning until she knew what she had to do.
The next day...
Cheryl walked into school like before, her head held high. Her bold lipstick standing out along with her hair. She walked up to Josies locker and stuck a note on there.Meet me at our bench. C Xo
Whilst Cheryl was waiting patiently for Josie to show up, Josie had other plans. Cheryl got up and decided that she had waited long enough until she saw Josie. But she wasn't alone. She was with Reggie. They were holding hands and she was laughing at his stupid jokes, Everything Veronica had said had become reality. And it burned Cheryl's heart knowing that she was too late to do anything about it.
"Josie?" Cheryl cried.
"Cheryl, hey, Uh this is Reggie-"
"Yeah I know Reggie, did you get my note?" Cheryl asked.
"Wait that was you? I thought it was Reggie." Josie laughed. Cheryl lowered her head whilst Reggie smirked.
"Look Cheryl maybe we'll catch up another time, okay girl?" Josie said, still holding Reggie hands. Cheryl didn't speak, she had no words. "I'll see ya around." Josie said whilst waking off. Cheryl knew it was too late to do anything, she had lost her girl, for good.
