Double Date

"Please V, come with me tonight. I'm too nervous, I need my best girl there with me." Betty pleaded.

"Look, maybe, I'll talk to my mom. But I thought dates were... you know.. a one on one thing?" Veronica joked.

"There's another cute guy going." Betty continued.

"Who?"

"Archie Andrews..." Betty smirked.

"You're just saying that because you know I kinda have a crush on him." Veronica rolled her eyes.

"Maybe but that's not the point. If you join me and Juggie tonight I'll try out for the river vixens with you next week." Betty offered.

"Promise?" Veronica said.

"Promise." Betty said trying to hold in a smile.

"Ughh fine, I'll come on your stupid date." Veronica agreed. Betty wrapped her arms around Betty and squeezed. "We better get back to class." Betty said realising the time.

After School...
Veronica couldn't decide on what to wear so called Betty.

"Maybe you should go for the black pencil skirt and white collar top. Can't beat that!" Betty suggested.

"Pearls or no pearls?" Veronica asked.

"Is that even a question?" Betty asked.

"Gonna take that has pearls." Veronica said.

"Well hurry up and get dressed, we're picking you up in 20 minutes. Bye V." Betty said.

"Bye B."

Veronica got changed and looked in the mirror whilst putting her pearl necklace on.

"Where do you think you're going?" Hermione, Veronica's mom asked.

"Going out with Betty and a few friends." Veronica answered.

"Uh, I don't think so, I've planned a lovely meal with your father, he's home tonight." Hermione said.

"Mother, I've already said yes, I'll be home by 10, no later I promise." Veronica said grabbing her black coat and heading out.

"Here she is! Veronica this is Jughead and Archie." Betty said has Veronica got in the back of the car.

"Nice to meet you both." Veronica replied.

Once they arrived at pop's diner they all ordered milkshakes and burgers. "So Veronica... you moved from New York?" Archie said trying to make conversation.

"Yeah, Riverdale is a lot smaller but it's... peaceful I suppose." Veronica replied playing with her pearls. Veronica could see Betty and Jughead playing with each others hands and giggling like they were back in pre-school. She sighed whilst she started to wish she was back home eating a gourmet meal with her parents.

"Hey, we're just gonna pop outside for a few minutes, we'll beep the horn when we're leaving." Jughead said placing his arm over Betty's shoulder. Veronica had a sense of panic come over her whilst Archie's face dropped.

"Uh, you sure Betty?" Veronica asked. Betty nodded whilst smiling.

"So... how are you finding school?" Archie started again.

"Look you don't need to make small talk. I have an idea that will save us both, walk me home. I only live a few blocks away." Veronica suggested.

"Deal." Archie replied. Has they walked home Veronica realised she had left her coat in the back of Jugheads car.

"Damn! I left my coat behind." Veronica sighed.

"Cold?" Archie asked.

"Freezing." Veronica nodded. Archie stopped walking.

"What are you doing?" Veronica asked. Archie took off his varsity jacket and placed it on Veronica. Veronica couldn't help but smile but quickly hid it due to her not wanting Archie to find out she had this huge crush on him.

"Thank you." Veronica said.

"You know you didn't have to be dry to me tonight, I already know you like me." Archie smirked.

Veronica scoffed, "Am I that obvious or did Betty tell you?"

"A bit of both actually, but mostly Betty." Archie replied. "There's no need to be embarrassed. It's normal, people like each other."

"Wait each other?" Veronica asked. Archie's faced turned red.

"Well look who's embarrassed now." Veronica laughed.

They finally reached Veronica's house.
"Well this is me, thanks for walking me home, even though I kinda forced you." Veronica said handing back his jacket.

"You can keep that, just give it back on our next date." Archie said.

"This was a date? Oh Archiekins I expect at least flowers on a first date, but I will still take that date you just offered." Veronica replied.

Veronica lent forward and kissed Archie's cheek.

"Goodnight Veronica..."

"Goodnight Archie..."
