Close-call (Beronica)

Betty woke up due to the sun shining through Veronica's blinds. She looked at the alarm clock on the bedside cabinet; 7:32am. She turned around to see if Veronica was awake and no surprise she wasn't. Betty pushed Veronica's hair out of her face and kissed her forehead. She got up and grabbed her jeans off the chair. She sneaked into the bathroom and got changed. She heard footsteps walk up the stairs, she started to panic as Veronica's mom didn't know Betty was here let alone know her and Veronica were dating. She locked the door and waited.

"Veronica? Wake up, you're gonna be late for your interview at pops." Hermione yelled walking into Veronica's room.

"Oh mom, I thought you were meeting Fred this morning?" Veronica said half awake. Betty tried to keep quiet but knocked over a shampoo bottle.

Hermione jumped due to the noise from the bathroom whilst Veronica's eyes widened.

"What was that?" Hermione asked.

"Oh I think I left the window open last night in the bathroom. Probably the wind knocked over a bottle or something." Veronica lied.

"Uh okay but you gotta get ready. I'm leaving now but I'll see you tonight for food." Hermione said confused as she looked out the window and saw bright blue skies and no wind. "Oh and why don't you invite that cute boy over for some dinner? What was his name? Archie?" Hermione asked.

"Uh I'll ask but I doubt it. I don't really like him in that way mom." Veronica assured.

"Okay well just ask anyway, I'll see you tonight mija" Hermione said whilst leaving the house. Veronica let out a huge sigh of relief.

"It's clear!" Veronica yelled at Betty. The bathroom door opened and Betty rushed back into the bedroom.

"That was a close call." Betty said kissing Veronica.

"Too close." Veronica smirked.

"I really think you should tell her V." Betty suggested.

"Ohh no, she would have a heart attack!" Veronica said grabbing some clean clothes.

"No she won't! I thought the same thing but my mom was fine with it. I mean not at first but she's understanding now." Betty assured.

"Betty, I need you to be patient, I know it's hard but coming out to my mom is gonna take me a while."

"But come on, I did it!" Betty said not letting it go. Veronica started to get annoyed.

"Betty! Just leave it! I'm not ready, stop pushing me to do something I don't wanna do! I can't deal with it at the moment." Veronica snapped.

"Fine, how about I just leave then. Make you feel happier." Betty said whilst grabbing her things and walking towards the door.

"Good, bye!" Veronica said just before Betty slammed the door. Veronica straight away regretted what she said. She knew Betty was right, it was time she told her mom, she had been feeling this way for nearly 3 years. But also Veronica thought that Betty should be patient, if she loved her that much she'd wait.

3 days later...
"I don't know what to do Archie. I'm completely lost without her." Veronica moaned to Archie.

"Why don't you just apologise?" Archie suggested.

"I have but she's ignoring my texts."

"I meant as in you know face to face, like how an apology should be done." Archie said whilst practicing the notes on his guitar.

"How am I supposed to even meet with her if I can't get in contact-"

"Mhm." Betty interrupted whilst standing by the door.

"I'll leave you two be." Archie said putting his guitar down and leaving the room. Betty sat next to Veronica.

"I'm so sorry V, I know I should be patient, I just wanna show you off and show how incredibly lucky I am to have you." Betty said.

"No you were right, I should talk to my mom. It would be a new start for me, you never know she might actually be okay with it. I'm gonna tell her tonight at dinner." Veronica decided.

"Oh thank god! And there's nothing to worry about because I'm gonna be right there sitting next to you." Betty said. Veronica smiled as Betty cupped her face and kissed her.

"Don't be late." Veronica smirked.
