Veronica and Cheryl were in their last year of university. They had been living together at least for 3 years, they grew closer and closer everyday, they were there for each other and always supported each other even when the other one was in the wrong. Graduation was creeping up slowly, but before that Veronica needed to submit her last assignment in. Cheryl was all done and already knew she aced her drama exam. Veronica had to write a article of her own subject choice. It could be anything, but being Veronica... she chose to do her topic on love and relationships.

"Are you going to come and watch this episode or not?" Cheryl said sitting in her sweats whilst snacking on popcorn, whilst Veronica was in the kitchen typing away.

"Yeah just a second." Veronica yelled back.

"Can I proof read your article again?" Cheryl asked.

"Oh no... not this one... this ones a little personal..." Veronica said.

"Oh like I don't know everything already about you." Cheryl joked. Cheryl was right but to an extent. She didn't know Veronica's biggest secret, she had his huge crush on Cheryl that had been growing over the past 2 years.

"Okay done. Let's start." Veronica said shutting her laptop off and joining Cheryl on their couch.

The next morning...
Veronica headed for her Uni lecture, whilst Cheryl had a lie in. She didn't wake up till 11am. By now Veronica was nearly finished for the day. Cheryl went to the kitchen to grab some juice and she noticed Veronica's laptop was open and on. She went to shut down the laptop but she found Veronica's assignment on the screen. She read the title and gasped.

Falling for your roommate that's also your best friend...

Cheryl read through whilst a messages popped up in the corner from Kevin.
Kevin- Any updates on making a move on Cheryl?? X

Cheryl felt her heart sink, she didn't know whether to be worried or flattered. She didn't know what to do. She heard the front door going but it was too late for her to move.

"Hey! So I was thinking maybe we could-" Veronica stoped as she realised what Cheryl had read. She gulped.

"I can explain."

"Go ahead." Cheryl smirked.

"The article basically says it all. But I understand if you're freaked out because you're my roommate and you should 'know' everything about me. I tried to stop getting feelings for you but-"

"Veronica, stop. I'm sorry but I can't give you what you want." Cheryl lied.

"I didn't expect you to. I get it that we're friends and being together would thing everything we have, that's what made me stop liking you but I just couldn't." Veronica explained.

"Let's forget about it, any news?" Cheryl said changing the subject quickly as she didn't want to face the reality of the situation.

"Actually, yes but it's depends how you see it... I'm moving back to New York." Veronica said. "My bags are packed ready. There's a internship in the New York Times. My mom thinks it'll be great for me, see my old friends."

Cheryl's heart sunk even further, she was loosing her best friend.

Moving day...
Veronica and Cheryl hadn't spoken for the past week due to the awkwardness. It was time for Veronica to say goodbye to Cheryl but per usual she was asleep. She left a note on the kitchen table.

Hermione picked up Veronica and headed to the nearest airport.

"Everything okay mija?"

"Yeah, just gonna be different moving back home." Veronica lied. Deep down she was hurting due to the fact Cheryl didn't love her back.

They finally arrived at the airport, they were at the check-in point when Veronica could hear her name being yelled from behind.

"Veronica Lodge!" A voice screamed. Veronica turned around and found Cheryl. She smiled but was confused.

"Cheryl what are you doing here?"

"I was stupid, I should've told you that I loved you too. Please don't get on that flight, come back home with me and we can be together. I've had feelings in the past for you but only now they've really become a reality for me. Please, just stay here." Cheryl asked.

"Mija come on they're boarding." Hermione rushed. Veronica looked at the clock on the wall then looked back at Cheryl. All of a sudden, their lips met. Veronica was taken by surprise but wasn't complaining. Veronica pushed Cheryl off.

"As much as I want to... I'm sorry Cheryl. I can't. My career is a flight away. You're too late." Veronica said just before kissing Cheryl on the cheek. A tear fell from Cheryl's eye whilst she saw Veronica leave her side. She realised she should've told Veronica sooner about her growing feelings.
