This isn't really relevant for long time readers, but is more for newcomers.

As an author I am writing this three years on from when I first published this book/collection. Now I am wiser and have grown and developed my skill as a writer I look back and re-evaluate some of my first pieces.

I ask you kindly, not to judge this collection by the first few pieces of poetry, particularly the very first.

At that point I was still conforming to the rhyming rules and 4 line stanzas of formal poems. I hadn't yet been introduced to free verse or the wonders of not giving a shit about the rules of writing.

I also look back now and acknowledge that it is far too long and rambling and repetitive and a slightly dark and depressing poem from when I had a very pessimistic outlook on the world.

I also totally understand (and somewhat recommend) if you skip some poems that are not to your liking or are not good quality.

I personally choose to leave all my poems in even if I now don't like them, because it shows my progression as a writer and where I have come from. Also you will notice a them of, I don't edit my poems, therefore you will some across mistakes.

I also would like to say that some of my poems are very pessimistic and I no longer hold some of the feelings expressed in here and now hope to write from a much happier point of view. I do recognise that a couple of poems in here are slightly repetitive of others, however, it's simply because I forgot I wrote the others.

I aspire for my poems to now on be inspired by the beauty and magic I see in the world and people surrounding me, not the darkness that seemed to enshroud me for a while.

Anyway, that's just a little bit of info for any new readers and I hope you enjoy reading!
