(Cody's Pov)
A perfect life where nothing wrong happens, is what we want. We want a simple life. But the truth is there's no such thing as a perfect life, we will morn over the death of our loved ones, and we want to be loved with out trying so hard. I believe that a perfect life would be finally allowing the right person in, to take a look at my hidden life. Younger, the world seemed simpler, when we where young and defenseless our parents cared for us and now we are stepping out into the real world. And it finally hits you like a brick. What are you going to do with your life now?
That's the question I have been asking myself ever since my father started to rule over the vampires. I could do two things with my life; rule or not. Everything happens now or never, here and now. Iv'e been awake all night waiting for my knights to return Kalia. Alli's sixteenth birthday was ruined by the werewolf's taking Kalia and she's still missing.
"My Lord," I turned around holding the cigarette between my lips "Kalia is still missing, the weather is to become colder tonight then last night during the attack." I signed placing the cigarette in the ash tray.
"Bring me my horse." he nodded before exiting, I flitted to my room and slipped on riding pants and boots. When I returned Jackson was waiting at the door.
"Sir." he bowed I walked past him to saw the black Friesian standing there with an white Arabian. "Some have already left the castle perimeter and are heading South Sir." he explained as he held the Friesian as I stepped into the saddle.
"Jackson, Daniel and I will go North, the rest of us you spit up we have to find her before dark. Go on the Petrova territory, the werewolves are loyal to them"
"But Sir, they will start a war! and we aren't prepared!" Daniel, my senior knight exclaimed now beside me.
"Its a risk we have to take, go all of you alarm the others on the South side" I ordered they nodded once before they galloped off.
"Are you sure about this Sir?" Daniel
"Why question my sureness Daniel?" I asked as my phone rang, I looked down at the Caller I.D. Aria I ignored the call. I handed my phone over to one of the guards who stood at the front doors.
"Lets go." I said kicking the horse in the side as he started in a trot. " And Daniel?"
"Yes Sir?"
"Never question my sureness again understood? You are better than that are you not?"
"Of course. Understood."
"Good." I said before I kicked the horse again as he quickly changed gaits until we were galloping through the forest.
Hours passed by and we haven't found Kalia yet.
"They hid her carefully, and she's probably unconscious.." Jackson said I ignored him knowing that the werewolf's wouldn't leave her in the open.
I didn't know much about Kalia, or her life. Hell, I didn't even know her middle name or if she had any siblings. I knew that she was different then my other blood slaves, she didn't want me to feed off her but dammit her blood was amazing. I knew she lived with a foster family, and she didn't know why they would just give her up. She wants to know a lot of things, and I'm afraid that the truth might hurt and even kill her.
"Cody!" I knocked my thoughts away and stopped my horse in alarm.
"Its Kalia" Daniel said pointing over by a log and Kalia's body laying on it side.
"Hold my horse" I said while quickly dismounting and handing the reins to Daniel.
"Kalia.." I whispered pulling her toward me to where she was laying on her back. Her chin was dried with blood, and her shirt was ripped and barley covering her chest. She was cold and unconscious, I looked over her body seeing gashes, then looked back at my two knights.
