Chapter 19:

(Kalia's Pov)

"What do you mean I don't know!" My voice rising.

"Kalia it's not my job to tell you ask Jaden." Lucas said calmly.

"I want to know now! What do you mean he was killed!?" I yelled at him. He backed up a bit.

"Obviously your family hid it from you, I'm not telling you." He said crossing his arms over his bare chest.

I walked up to him but he stuck his hands out.

"Fine, Okay! I'll tell you, but only because you've had a bad day."

I sat on the bed and waited for him to begin to talk. He sat down, and ran his fingers through his hair a couple times.

"Peter was seventeen, he was in New Orleans doing some business or something when he planned to kill Cody. Heading back to the house that he was staying at with your father when Brad and a couple other vampires jumped him, Brad killed him." Lucas cleared his throat at the end before standing up and his back to me.

A few tears fell but I quickly wiped them off when Lucas turned to look over at me.

"I'm so sorry Kalia, I thought you knew."

"Who else knows?" I sniffed

"Cody probably, your family.. Lots of people. How where you the only one who didn't know?"

"I was three, Roman said that he died of an illness he caught in New Orleans. I never knew." I mummer

"Kalia I'm sorry." He said placing his hand on my shoulder. I nodded before taking off my shoes, and laying down pulling the blanket up to my neck. I felt Lucas's sympathetic stare on me before I heard him climb up the ladder up to his bed.

(Cody's Pov)

I fought off the light that made its way through the thin curtains. But I had opened my eyes already, I sigh sitting up, looking over towards the empty space where Aria had laid. I reach for my phone seeing a missed call from Jake. I looked over to to clock to see it was already noon. I curse throwing to covers off and quickly getting dressed and into the bathroom to fix my hair that was getting long.

I ran down the stairs quickly fixing the Jean jacket as I passed Alli.

"Can I go see Kalia yet?"

"No." I mumbled going out the door.

"Evening sir." A guard greeted me as I walked down the stone steps.

"Afternoon." I say walking faster towards the Knights Palace. A guard opened the iron gate at my sight and I thanked him, looking around to see the Knights already practicing.

I pull out my phone swiping right on Jakes missed call. It rang a few times before he picked up.

"Where are you?"

"In the control center at the Knights Palace. Where are you? It like noon-" I hung up on him and walked up the concrete road towards the from door. Daniel crossed my path

"Sir." He said shaking my hand I smiled.

"How's it been since I've been gone?"

"Quiet, a little too quiet." I nodded.

"Maybe the wolves gave up?"

"I don't think so.. A lot of them are going into New Orleans. They might come back to surprise us."

"Maybe." He said with a shrugg.

"Cheer up mate! You'll be graduating in three weeks! I'll pull a few string and maybe get you working in the Castle."
