(Kalia's Pov)
Cody was somewhat of an escape he was different. His whole presence seemed so active with a caring passion that made him impose to forget. The fact that he killed people didn't change the grip he had on me, I was constantly drawn to him. Drawn to the fact that he had a little bit of a dark side, and I wanted to see it.
Memories from last night flashed through my mind, the evidence of him over my neck, collarbones, hips, and waistline. The burning of his hands all over my body, every muscle ached as I created a mental picture of the events from last night. Him hovered over me, my hands trailing over his arms, and back, a thin layer of sweat covering both of us. I smile rolling over onto my stomach wide awake, just not wanting to get out of bed.
Stretching out my arm to only feel the wrinkled sheets, I open my eyes squinting at the light to not see Cody. I sit up pulling the blanket up on my bare body as looked at the bedside table. 8:30a.m. Of course he's up at the ass crack of dawn he probably lifted some weights, trained the Knights, and probably had some blood. A neatly folded black silk robe with a place card with my name in Cody's handwriting. I flipped the card over to see if I missed anything before getting out of bed, and slipping the robe on. The floor was clean from clothes and I sighed wishing that I could have at least woken up next to Cody. I walked into the bathroom to see another set clothes neatly folded on the counter. I smile and look into the mirror.
I froze when I realized that my eyes were red. I squeezed my eyes shut for a couple seconds before opening them seeing my original color. I wonder if this was a Alpha thing or my nightmare- being contaminated with the virus.
After finishing my shower I blow dried my hair leaving it to its natural straightness. I walked out of Cody's room and down the hall, taking the stairs, and entering the living room.
"Hey Kalia, I didn't hear you Cody come in last night."
"Yeah, we-um- we were up late." I stutter.
"What happened last night? I came home and you guys weren't here."
"It was practically midnight when we got home. I'll tell you later Alli, I just want to find Cody."
I heard him before I saw him, his voice sounded off the walls as he yelled at someone, I looked over at Alli before I followed the sound of his voice all the way to his office. The door was opened to you peered in and saw him, Jake, and his dad. I took a couple step and went inside, everyone's eye's landed on me. I watched as Brad gave Cody a look before walking past me harshly slamming the door behind him. I looked over at Cody, and Jake took that as his cue to leave he gave Cody a pat on the shoulder before leaving.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there this morning." He says leaning against the desk.
"I understand, I mean your head of the Knights." I say walking up to him and sitting beside him. I placed my hand on his shoulder when he didn't say anything next. He reached up and interlaced our fingers and turned and gave me a peck on my lips.
"That was for this morning" I smile before he gives me another kiss.
"That was for saving me from my dad." I smile as he leans in again, he presses his lips to mine, just as my phone dinged. I pulled away grabbing it from my back pocket to see it was from Jaden.
From Jaden: Your beta is here, come over.
"Ya know it probably wouldn't hurt for you to go see him, he needs answers."
"I'm sure Jaden has already told him."
"Don't let Jaden teach your beta, he's yours, your the Alpha now."
