Chapter 33: Condition Poor

(Cody's Pov)

Kalia's constant tossing and turning  meant she was about to wake up, I had slept in a few more hours then I had liked but at least I was spending time with Kalia. Her back was against my chest with my arms wrapped tightly around her. Her eyes still carried the dark circles under them, and I guessed that the virus would only get worse.

I unwrapped my arms from her waist and quietly got out of bed and took a shower. I thought about Allis question. Should I let Kalia go to Australia? With William out and about tracking our every move, and getting to her? I'd keep thinking about it.

I walked up and saw Kalia was gone, the blankets pulled back, with her clothes up off the floor.

"Kalia?" I yell throughout the house and listen for her.

"Shower!" I smile, she was in the shower in the room across from mine.

I walk down stairs pulling out my phone looking at the time, Jake should be in Scotland by now. I called him.

'Hello?'

"Jake where are you?" I ask.

'I just landed in Scotland, we had a bit of trouble in New Orleans with Kalia's friend.'

"Just find the flower, and get home quickly. Do you have the recipe?"

'Yeah. All we need is the flower.'

"Good, hurry back, I think it's  worsening. I don't want to loose her."
'I'm trying, he gave me an address of someone who actually grows the flower, we are going to rest and go in the morning.'

"No, go get the flower you can sleep on the plane."

'Whatever.' He said before hanging up. I sigh setting my phone down on the content and rubbing my face.

"Am I going to die?" Kalia's voice rang out. I whipped around to see her in dark skinny jeans, a blue top, with a half sleeve black jacket over it. Her hair was curled and she looked tired, dark circles under her eyes, no color to her face.

"No babe," I said pulling her into a hug. "Jake went to go get the stuff for you, you'll be okay I promise." She gave me a smile before resting her head on my chest and hugged me tightly I returned.

(Kalia's Pov)

I felt like shit. I felt weaker everyday, I couldn't sleep. When I closed my eyes the virus would take over my body, I've learned to control some of it when I'm sleeping with Cody, but it's getting harder everyday.

Throughout the day, the times I'd phased have quadrupled since yesterday. I was in the bed room locked back to the bed as Cody went back to the castle to train. I could feel the virus slowly killing me, starting from the insides. I felt like some form of power was going inside me, ready to unleash at any moment. I just hoped that Jake could get the flower in time.

(Cody's Pov)

I was in the book store looking for a book on the virus when two small arms wrapped around me. I smile immediately knowing her touch. I turn around to see Kalia with a smile on her face.

"Hi baby." I say before kissing her. Her soft lips so familiar, I knew the way she worked, and she knew how I worked. Her hands wrapped around my neck pulling me closer as I smiled deeming the kiss as her fingers tangled themselves in the ends of my hair. I pulled away.

"God I can't stop thinking about of you."

"Same." She says with a small smile running her hands down my arms and grabbed my wrist. She mumbled under her breath and I looked at her confused. Until her face started changing, from the roots to here feet. I tried pulling away but he grasp on me was tighter, full attention on what she was mumbling.

"Aria" I greet through my teeth as a sharp pain went through my arms and up to my head. She let go and I stumbled back falling into my back. I glanced over at Aria, porcelain white skin, dark black hair, her lips painted red, and a wicked smile of her face. There were different ways you could secret a witch, or warlock- catlike eyes, white skin, really anything out of the ordinary.

"I warned you." She said as I watched her turn back to me walking out the bookstore doors. I looked down at my wrist but nothing was there, I wondered what she did. I get up dusting myself off and exited the store.

We were in the hospital quarters ties to the bed because he condition had worsened, her lips where blue and her eyes and claws didn't change back. She had random swings where she wanted I break free.

"Let me go!" Kalia cries struggling against the leather straps. She screamed in pain, crying. She looked over at me and I look at her sympathetically. Dr. Rollins was out of town visiting family in Canda so it was just us.

"I'm sorry baby." She coughed and The door swung to see Jaden. I quickly run up to him so he wouldn't touch her.

"Don't touch her you'll get sick!" I yell pushing him back.

"Kalia, how dare you not tell me about this!" He yelled pushing me away. "You could die, does that not scare the living hell out of you?!"

"Enough Jaden." Lucas said calmly.

"Jake went to get the flower."

"What if your little messenger boy doesn't make it? Kalia will die-" I push him back.

"Enough." I said but he pushed me back and down to the floor.

"This is your fault-" I came back up and punched him straight in the jaw. He turned his head to look at me red eyes glowing her growled grabbing handfuls of my hair and pushing my into the wall, I hissed barring my fangs and he did the same. We got into a fist fight before I was pushed back hard enough to knock the art off the wall and Kalia growled.

"Enough both of you." She says before holding onto the desk beside her. I stood up dusting myself of before picking her up and placing her in the bed once again, before ordering a guard outside to check if one of the insane rooms were empty. This is were we kept rouge vampires that we changed in hopes they would change.

"How'd you find out?"

"Isaac, didn't you think you should tell me? I'm your brother Kalia, your only other sibling. Your last family member since you hate everyone else. I had a right to know, so why?"

"Because I was scared it was really the virus, I thought there wasn't a cure, but then I found out there was. I just thought it would be easier just not to tell anyone." She said grabbing hold of my hand and interlaced our fingers.

"Well now you know."
