You couldn't deal with the Federation anymore. You had just been through what happened with Krall and you were devastated. You had lost some of your best friends and after seeing the horrors of that camp, you couldn't do it anymore.

You decided to leave. It wasn't an easy choice. You still had a lot of friends on board the Enterprise and you would be leaving all of them behind. All of your friends understood, though. They one hundred percent supported you. You were so thankful for them.

But you were worried about one of your friends, Spock. He was your absolute best friend and you spent a lot of time with him. You two were quite attached to each other.

It was the day you were taking a shuttle to Mars. Your family lived on Mars and you were born there as well. You were almost to the shuttle when you saw Spock by the entrance to the shuttle, waiting for you. He saw you and met you in the middle.

"So, you're leaving," Spock said, looking you over.

"Yeah. Look," you began, "Spock, I'm sorry. I have too. I can't deal with this anymore. I have to go."

Spock nodded. "I understand. I'm assuming you resigned from your position?"

You adjusted your bag on your shoulder. "Yes, I have."

"Where are you going?"

"Mars. My family is there, so I thought I'd stay there for a while," you said. "Then I might join a freighter or something. I'm not sure."

Spock held up the Vulcan salute. "Live long and prosper, Y/N."

You sighed and smiled. "Give me a hug, dumbass."

You moved forward and hugged Spock. He was stiff for a moment, but he hugged you back. You stood there, hugging each other, for a few minutes.

You pulled back and looked up at Spock. You placed a hand on Spock's cheek. He leaned into your hand, closing his eyes.

"I'll never forget you, Spock," you said. "You'll always be in my heart. Goodbye, my dear friend. I'll see you whenever."

You walked off towards the transport shuttle, leaving your crew and your best friend behind. It saddened you greatly, but you had to do it. You couldn't do that job anymore.
