You were sick. Very sick. It was a tough battle. Doctors fought hard for you. They didn't know what was wrong with you. Whatever you had was elusive and couldn't be caught.
But then something happened. On the rare occasions that you got to go outside, you blacked out. At first, you thought it was just your disease or whatever you had, but you had ended up in some place that you didn't know.
You barely had time to sit up when a man ran up to you. He was grey and kinda looked like a reptile. That's all you remember before you passed out.
After what felt like only a few seconds, you woke up. You looked around to see a room full of beds. You squinted and tried to sit up, but a man in some kind of uniform rushed over and gently pushed you back on the bed.
"You can't sit up right now, Miss," the man asked. "Can I get your name?"
"I'm Y/N. Where am I?" You asked.
"You're on Deep Space Nine. It's a Starfleet base," the man answered.
Your eyes knitted in confusion. "What year is it?"
The man answered me as another man walked in with two women. He held himself with confidence. He nodded to the man next to you and smiled at you.
"Good afternoon, young lady. Can you tell us about where you came from?"
You answered, but immediately afterward asked, "What are you guys going to do about my sickness? And who was the man that helped me?"
"That was Garak. He's not here right now, but he had been visiting you frequently," the man said, who you found out to be Doctor Bashir. "As for your sickness, there's an easy cure for that. You'll be out within a week and a half."
You had so much fun in the past two weeks. You had formally met Garak, who had saved you. You two actually got along quite well. He was nice to you and treated you well.
After about a month of living on DS9, you started dating Garak. It was an amazing time, dating Garak. He was so nice and never hurt you. You were treated with kindness.
A year had passed and your relationship with Garak was going strong. You spent all your free time with him. You believed that DS9 was your home and you were meant to be there with Garak.
But things aren't always meant to be. You were walking with Garak to a date at a nearby restaurant when a fight broke out. Firearms got involved and a stray laser hit you in the chest.
You cried out as you fell to the ground. Garak caught you before you hit the ground. Tears were running down your face as you looked up at Garak.
"I'm so sorry, Garak. I'm so, so sorry," you cried.
Garak cradled your head. "No, Y/N, you're going to be fine. Bashir is going to be here soon, I promise."
But Bashir wouldn't get there in time. You died in Garak's arms, completely breaking his heart. He had lost the only thing he had looked forward to seeing every day You were his sunshine. His only joy.
Garak reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. He opened it and almost started crying. It was a ring with diamonds that were your favorite color. He was going to ask you to marry him on the date but never got the chance. It seemed tragedy seemed to follow both of you.
