You've always been shy and a tab bit socially awkward. Especially when it came to talking to Ensign Harry Kim. You couldn't even ask for more food without stuttering. How could you talk to your crush without dying?

It was lunchtime, and you never missed a meal. You were sitting at a table in the corner, paying more attention to your food than anything else. You finally looked up when Tom and Harry sat down across from you.

"What's a girl like you doing sitting alone in the corner?" Tom asked, being the flirt he was.

"I don't talk to people very much," you mumbled.

Tom and Harry shared a look.

"Then what do you in your free time?" Harry asked.

Your heart started beating widely.

You shrugged. "Nothing really."

"I can change that for you," Tom said.

You rolled your eyes. "You aren't my type. And I wouldn't date you anyways. I'm interested in someone else anyways."

"And who's that?" Tom asked, a smirk growing on his face.

You glared at him. "Why should I tell you? You're gonna tell him."

You huffed and got up, heading to the trash can. You tossed your food and turned around, almost bumping into Harry.

"Sorry," you said.

"Don't worry about it. Do you want to to go out tonight? I heard there's a movie in one of the holodecks," said Harry.

You stared at him for a few seconds with your mouth open.

"Sure. Why not?" You managed.

"You serious? I didn't think you'd say yes," said Harry.

"Of course I'd say yes. Why wouldn't I go out with the guy I like?" You said, walking off.
