Almost three weeks later

Things hadn't been easy, but Jimin made it work.
He mostly busied himself with work for university, took part in extra dance practices and learned more for his theory classes than probably ever before.

That was all he could do: work. It distracted him just enough from Yoongi and everything else that was going on in his mind.
He still hadn't talked to Taehyung, but right now, Jimin didn't feel like it either. He needed a bit of freedom, that's all. Some time alone to sort his mind.

It was on the fifth day of his working-spree that, around four in the afternoon, someone rang on his door.
Part of Jimin was tempted just not to open the door and instead continue writing his essay on The Major Differences Between the Hip Hop Styles that was probably not important at all and that Jimin had already spent way too much time on.
But then, the bell rang again, and Jimin groaned as he got up and hurried over to the door.

"It's okay, I'm coming," he mumbled to himself, unlocking the main entrance.

He had expected it to be Taehyung, Seokjin maybe or even Jungkook – but he hadn't expected Hoseok to walk up the stairs, with an apologetic smile on his lips.
"Hey," he said. Jimin stepped aside to let him enter.
"Hi," he responded and closed the door.

Him and Hoseok had never been extremely close. They were friends, sure, they got along well, but that was mostly because Hoseok was Yoongi's best friend and Jimin hadn't wanted to cause any conflicts that would make Yoongi want to decide between his boyfriend and his best friend.
Hoseok was a good guy, Jimin knew that. They had gone through a lot together.
But Jimin had expected Hoseok to stop caring about him now that Yoongi and him weren't together anymore.
Of course Jimin was relieved that it didn't seem to be like that. Still, he couldn't imagine that there was something that him and Hoseok needed to talk about, and he couldn't imagine that the elder simply came to check on him either.

"I hope I wasn't disturbing anything," Hoseok said with a nod towards the table where Jimin's books and papers laid spread on.
"Oh," Jimin said, "No, you didn't."

Hoseok glanced around the apartment and crossed his arms behind his back.
"Taehyung asked me if I had heard anything from you," he started. Jimin sat down on his couch.
"And then Jungkook asked me about you as well, so I decided to come over and see if you were alright."
Jimin chuckled dryly. "They must've been really desperate if they chose to ask you out of all people."
He didn't mean to come across as rude, but Hoseok didn't seem to mind.
"I guess," he said and shrugged, "But they called you multiple times and texted you. They would've come over themselves sooner or later, I guess." He looked back at the table, at Jimin's books.
"I figured, since you didn't reply to any of their messages, that you were either in big trouble or not willing to talk to them."

Hoseok, Jimin remembered, was not someone to act without due consideration.

"Taehyung and I had a fight," he told him. Hoseok hummed.
"What about Jungkook?"
"Nothing bad between us."
Hoseok nodded. "You should come hang out with us today," he then said.
Jimin rubbed his hands together and tilted his head slightly. He sighed.
"I still have some work to do," he said.
If he wanted, he could finish the essay tomorrow. It was due in four days and Jimin was almost done anyways.
Besides, it wasn't important. Not at all.

"I get that," Hoseok said, "But to me it seems like you haven't left your apartment in like, what, almost a week?"
"Five days," Jimin corrected quietly.
Hoseok's gaze softened. "That's long enough. Come on, get ready, we're meeting the others at Seokjin's place."

To Jimin, it almost appeared like a desperate try to keep their group of friends together.

"Will Yoongi be there?" he asked, suddenly, without even thinking about it.
Hoseok stiffened. "Of course," he answered calmly.
Of course, Jimin repeated in his head. Yoongi was as much of a friend to the others as he himself was. Of course.
"Then I'm not going," he said and got up, walking over to the table. Hoseok followed him.
"Why?" he asked, "You don't have to talk to him. This is not about getting you two together again, either. We just want to hang out with everyone, not just half of us. And you need to leave this place again, too."
Jimin closed the books that were laying on the table and gathered the papers.
