"Are you done?"
Jimin stood in front of the mirror hanging over his dresser and raked his fingers through his hair as a poor attempt to make it look good. Then, he dropped his hands with a sigh.
"One second!" he called back.
"That's what you said five minutes ago," he heard Jungkook's voice coming closer. The next moment, Jungkook stood right by his door frame and leaned against it, his arms crossed in front of his chest.
"Yeah, I know, it's just –" Jimin gestured at his hair and made an annoyed noise. Jungkook chuckled.
"You look good, if that's what you mean."
"Shut up, my hair looks awful," Jimin mumbled. The parting in his hair was terrible today and made certain strands either hang down on his forehead or randomly fall to the wrong side of his head.
"It looks like it always does," Jungkook said with a shrug which earned him a glare from Jimin. He ducked his head and raised his hands in defense. "Okay, not like it always does, maybe," he quickly said.
"Sorry," Jimin sighed, "I'm awful, I know. See, this is why no one ever takes me on dates, I just take way too long to get ready."
Jungkook gave him a fond look. "Don't worry, I'll take you on as many dates as you want."
He stepped closer and wrapped his arms around Jimin's waist, then pressed a kiss to the side of his head while Jimin started one last attempt to fix his hair.
"You look good, okay?"
Jimin leaned against Jungkook's touch and sighed.
"Yeah, okay," he then said.
Yoongi had always made fun of him for being so late until he started to urge Jimin to get ready hours before they would leave just so they would be in time.
But especially towards the end, Jimin realized, his habit of always taking too long to get ready was one of the countless causes for their fights.
"Can we leave?" Jungkook asked and intertwined their fingers. Jimin nodded and looked back down at his drawer, then threw a last glance into the mirror.
"Wait, I need a necklace."
He opened the box he kept all his necklaces in, ignoring Jungkook's groan.
"Hurry up!" the younger reminded him one last time before exiting the room, leaving Jimin all alone.
Jimin's eyes scanned the content of the box before pulling out one of the necklaces, a silver one with a dark blue sandstone as a pendant.
But the necklace was tangled with another one, a golden one, and Jimin quickly grabbed it and started to untangle them as quickly as possible.
He didn't give the other necklace a second glance and was about to put it away again when the pendant caught his attention.
He halted for a second, then he put the other necklace down on the drawer to take a better look at the second one.
The pendant was a simple golden ring. Jimin's breath hitched.
He did still remember Yoongi giving him the necklace. He still remembered Yoongi's touch against his neck and how nervous he had been.
How could Jimin ever forget that day?
Jimin flinched when Jungkook called his name once again.
"Coming!" he shouted back, then, with trembling hands, he put the silver necklace with the sandstone into the box again and went for the golden one.
The one Yoongi gave to him.
"Oh," Jungkook said, "Nice necklace."
Jimin smiled uneasily, but luckily, Jungkook didn't notice.
