The day Yoongi had met Jimin he didn't think they would end up like this. He hadn't even thought he would fall for Jimin – sure, he had always been attractive to him, but they were still young and Yoongi hadn't liked wasting much of a thought on his future.

When it had happened, he didn't even realize at first. Falling in love with Jimin had been gradual, every passing day made it harder for Yoongi to deny it until he couldn't help but allow himself to feel. And it was beautiful and everything he could have hoped for.

Now, as he saw Jimin standing in the doorframe and waiting for Taehyung to appear, Yoongi felt himself falling again.

Jimin didn't even try to hide the surprise and horror when he spotted Yoongi leaving the elevator instead of his best friend. He shook his head.

"No."

"Jimin," Yoongi begged, "Please–"

"No!" Jimin repeated, louder this time, moving back into his apartment, "I don't want to hear it, please, don't."

"I met Taehyung at the entrance," Yoongi said, approaching slowly. He didn't want to make Jimin any more uncomfortable than he already was, but he also wasn't willing to let this chance to make things right slip from his hands like that.

"So?" Jimin spat, glaring at him, "We're hanging out now, he'll have to be here any second–"

"He told me to go here instead," Yoongi interrupted him, "I... told him I wanted to talk to you. He said I should go meet you instead of him."

Jimin shook his head. "No, he doesn't like you. He wouldn't do that."

Yoongi tried to ignore the little sting in his chest. "He did. You can call him and ask him."

Jimin stared at him. Slowly, his facade crumbled and he frowned, almost as if he was in pain.

"Alright," he said, "We can talk. But if you fuck this up I don't want to see you again."

Yoongi gulped. He hadn't expected for Jimin to agree so easily.

"I know," he said, then walked past Jimin into his apartment. The door fell shut behind him.

It felt like it had been forever since he had last been here, but it hadn't been that long. He looked around the room. Of course everything looked still the same. He slowly slid his jacket down his arms. This place used to be a second home to him.

"Okay," Jimin said, walking past Yoongi and sitting down on his couch. Yoongi followed him reluctantly. "Start, then."

For a moment, Yoongi stood there in front of the coffee table, unsure of what to do as Jimin's heavy gaze rested on him. Then, he slowly sat down on the other end of the couch, cautious to keep enough space between them.

"Alright," he sat, ruffling his hair, "I..."

This was harder than he had expected, and he cursed his past self for not preparing anything to say. Perhaps he hadn't thought he would get this far.

Jimin watched him with his arms crossed in front of his chest, expression all but unreadable. He noticed Yoongi's struggle, so he let out a sigh and closed his eyes.

"Why are you here, Yoongi?" he asked. Yoongi looked at him with helpless eyes.

"Because I wanted to apologize," he said, "Well, I..." He rubbed his face. Okay. This was happening.
