It was over a month ago now.

There wasn't a day on which Jimin didn't waste a thought on Yoongi; it would be an utter lie if he said so.
But it became easier. There was the box at the back of his wardrobe that he knew about, and sometimes, when he searched for a certain piece of clothing, his fingers brushed the box, and then he thought about pulling it out and looking at the stuff inside, but he never actually did.
He knew that if he did and Taehyung or Seokjin found out, they would literally kill him.

Every time Jimin thought of Yoongi he wondered what exactly made the older break up. Was it the fights or was it something Jimin had said or done? Did he fall out of love? Or did he really find someone else?
Of course, Jimin never had an answer to this question, so it remained a question that sometimes bugged him in the middle of the night and kept him from falling back asleep.

What was the worst were the What if's.

What if they were still together? What if Jimin didn't have such a bad temper, wasn't so exhausting to be around?
Maybe then it wouldn't have ended after almost four years.

It was bad, thinking about it like that. That they could've gone for another four years, maybe more, if Jimin had been different.

The only distraction Jimin had was Jungkook. He knew it was shitty of him, but he doubted that Jungkook wasn't aware of the fact that he wasn't Jimin's first choice.
It was just convenient that he had asked him on a date now. A few days earlier and Jimin wouldn't have said yes. A few days later and maybe, Jimin wouldn't have said yes either.
Jimin didn't even know why he said yes, it just happened, filled him with some weird satisfaction that Yoongi was in the same room. It was like Hey, look at me, I'm over you. Not only can we be in the same room without me bursting into tears, no; I'm dating other people now, too, and I couldn't be bothered less by your presence.

Which, of course, was complete bullshit and just Jimin pretending. But no one needed to know that.

So, the day came, and Jimin found himself getting ready for a date with Jungkook.

They would go to a restaurant, so Jimin chose a white button-up shirt and black pants. Not too fancy but still quite nice.
Jungkook picked him up shortly after 6pm. His parents had lent him their car (the kid couldn't afford his own, of course, and Jimin didn't blame him) and some indie rock song was quietly playing in the background when Jimin got in.

"You look good," Jungkook told him with a smile. Jimin wasn't even sure if he had really looked at him, but he didn't mention that.
"Thank you," he said, "You don't look too bad yourself."
Jungkook wore all black, and he really did look good.

The restaurant was about twenty minutes away from Jimin's house. There were many cars parked in front of it, and it seemed to be quite full already, but Jungkook had booked a table.
Jimin remembered that once, Yoongi and him had wanted to go to a restaurant (he believed it was for their anniversary) and Yoongi hadn't booked a table, praying that they would get a table anyways.

Of course they didn't, the restaurant had been full that day. They had ended up getting dinner from a cheap fast food restaurant. It had started raining at some point, almost ruining their suits.
Jimin thought it had been one of the worst and at the same time one of the best dates he'd ever had. He had laughed a lot for sure.

But no, Jungkook had booked a table, close to the window at that.
"This place is pretty," Jimin remarked when they sat down. Jungkook hummed in agreement.
