Of course Yoongi had been mad when Jimin got accepted at a university which was on the other side of the country – Jimin would have to move away and they would barely ever seen each other. Goddamnit, they had started dating like, what, ten months ago? Not even a year, and Jimin was already leaving again.
But being a dancer was his dream, and, although that was hard to believe, this university was just much better when it came to dancing than all the universities in their surroundings.
Yoongi had told Jimin that part of him really admired the younger for simply leaving everything behind just to follow his dreams.
Still, when Jimin received the letter that told him that he, indeed, got accepted, Yoongi was pissed. But that was in May, and now it was August, and Jimin had hoped that Yoongi would eventually calm down again.
What he didn't expect was to wake up to the sight of Yoongi almost crying.
They had spent the night together at Yoongi's place, for one last time (Jimin's parents were reluctant at first because Jimin barely ever spent time with them at home anymore, but then agreed), so Jimin had somewhat hoped to wake up in Yoongi's arms and feel his body against his own.
"Hey, hey hey hey..." Jimin whispered and sat up, wrapping his arm around Yoongi's neck.
"Hey, please don't cry, okay? Yoongi..." He leaned his forehead against Yoongi's temple and softly kissed him on the cheek.
"I'm not crying," Yoongi sad and angrily dried his eyes with the palm of his hand. Yet, he leaned into Jimin's touch and sobbed once.
"I can come here when I don't have classes, okay? Or on semester break, or when I visit my parents... please don't be upset..."
Yoongi carefully pushed Jimin away. "Yeah, I know," he murmured.
"I told you I'm not crying, I'm fine, okay?"
He wasn't okay.
Jimin sighed and watched Yoongi desperately try to wipe away his tears that were now rolling down his face.
He hesitated for a moment, then he climbed into Yoongi's lap and cupped his cheeks. The older man froze.
"I'm going to visit you as often as possible, yeah? And we can text all the time, I'm going to annoy you so much, you won't even notice that I'm away."
Yoongi chuckled and leaned forward, resting his forehead against Jimin's chest.
"You're supposed to cry, not me," he mumbled. Jimin grinned.
"Believe me, as soon as I'm in the car I'm going to be a bawling little kid."
Yoongi raised his head and pressed a kiss to Jimin's jawline.
"I don't want you to leave," he whispered and kissed Jimin's soft skin again.
"I'm sorry..." was all that Jimin replied. Yoongi raised his head and looked at Jimin.
"Don't he sorry. I'm an ass for trying to keep you from doing what you love. Hey, I'm glad that you get to do this..."
This time, Jimin didn't say anything. He simply closed the gap between them and kissed Yoongi softly.
Yoongi immediately kissed him back, slowly at first and then deeper and deeper with every second passing.
Jimin imagined being high on ecstasy must feel like kissing Yoongi.
His hands moved down to clutch at Yoongi's shoulders, and as their lips touched, Jimin felt the tears burn in his eyes.
This was the last time he got to kiss Yoongi like that, touch him like that, for a long time. How was that supposed to work? He didn't even know how to live without Yoongi, they had never gone for more than a week without seeing each other, and even that had been hell for either of the boys. And now, Jimin didn't know when he would see Yoongi the next time.
"I love you so much..." Yoongi whispered against Jimin's lips.
"I love you, too," Jimin sobbed. Yoongi leaned back to look at Jimin's face, and the next moment, Jimin had wrapped his arms around Yoongi's neck and buried his face in his neck.
And neither of them said anything, because there was nothing that would make this situation a bit more bearable.

"Promise to call me as soon as you arrive?" Yoongi said as he ran his fingers through Jimin's hair.
They stood in the staircase downstairs, Jimin's parents already waiting outside for their son.
"I promise... and tomorrow, I'll tell you about the university, okay? And you show me that project of yours, as soon as it's finished," Jimin said. Yoongi nodded and smiled. His fingers came to a stop and he pulled Jimin's head closer instead.
"I love you," he whispered right before their lips touched. Jimin sighed into the kiss.
"And I love you," he mumbled back.
They kissed again, and again, and when Yoongi moved his head back Jimin's followed him and he pecked him on the lips.
"This will work, right?" he asked, his eyes running over Yoongi's face.
Yoongi kissed him. "Of course. We'll make it work. Being far away from you is just half as bad as not having you at all."
And that was cheesy, but Jimin's heart fluttered nonetheless and he smiled, kissing Yoongi again.
His throat was burning and he knew that if Yoongi kept saying stuff like that, he would start crying like crazy.
Yoongi seemed to notice that.
"Hey, baby..." he whispered and pressed his lips on Jimin's cheek.
"God, I don't even know what to say that won't make you cry..."
They both chuckled.
Yoongi moved his hands to rest on Jimin's hips and pulled him even closer. Then he hugged him and Jimin hugged him back as tightly as possible.
Jimin tried to muffle his sobs by pressing his mouth against Yoongi's shoulder.
They both stood like that for a while, and Jimin cried silently until Yoongi's shirt was wet.
"I'm so bad at goodbyes," he chuckled and wiped his tears away.
"Me too," Yoongi sighed. He looked past Jimin and bit down on his lip.
"Your parents look very impatient... maybe you should go now."
Jimin didn't want to go. He nodded nonetheless.
"Okay... I love you so much..." he tried to say as steadily as possible. Yoongi caressed his cheek and nodded.
"I love you, too. Call me," he reminded, then he kissed Jimin one last time.
"Okay. Bye," Jimin said quietly and took a step back.
"Bye," Yoongi replied. He clenched his teeth and pressed his lips into a firm line.
Jimin sighed and opened the door, then he walked outside to his parents' car in which he got in.
"There you are. Took you long enough," his dad joked as he started the engine.
Jimin forced a chuckle.
They drove off, and Jimin started crying again.
He was so bad at goodbyes.
