Around Christmas one year ago

Christmas time had always been stressful.

Everyone was panicking because they didn't have the perfect present yet, people spent vast sums of money on Christmas decoration and a month's budget on food.

Jimin was a little perfectionist. He kind of knew it himself, mostly because his friends kept teasing him for it.
But he couldn't help it, and usually, it didn't really bother anyone.

Now, Christmas time came around and everyone was stressed.
This was going to be the first Christmas Yoongi and Jimin would spent together, without their families, and Jimin had sworn to himself that he would make this the perfect Christmas.

It was noon, two weeks before Christmas. Yoongi was still at university while Jimin had been running around Yoongi's apartment all morning doing preparations. He didn't need to – Yoongi had told him yesterday that he would help him once he came home – yet he did, because that was just how Jimin was. He couldn't sit still when two weeks before Christmas, there weren't any candles on the window sill and Yoongi hadn't hung up any of the white fairy lights.
But these weren't even Jimin's biggest problems; the worst thing was that, two weeks before Christmas, he still hadn't found the perfect present for Taehyung.

How bad of a friend could he be?

But Yoongi has promised to go to the city with him today, so Jimin waited patiently.
When the front door finally opened, Jimin jumped up from where he had been sitting on the couch and hurried over to the door.
"Hyung!" he said and smiled. Yoongi's tired eyes glanced around the apartment.
"Oh," he said and dropped his backpack to the floor, "You decorated."
"Pretty, huh?" Jimin stepped so close to Yoongi that their chests were touching; Yoongi's arm wrapped around his waist.
"It is," Yoongi agreed, then, he kissed Jimin on the lips and then on the forehead.
"Took me all day," Jimin said and snuggled closer to Yoongi, "I know you wanted to help, but I had nothing to do and I was bored."

"And the first thing you come up with is to decorate my apartment."

"Exactly." Jimin giggled when Yoongi pressed another kiss to his forehead. Then, he let go of the younger and walked over to the couch, Jimin following close behind.
"I still need Tae's present," Jimin mentioned casually when Yoongi sat down.
"You still got two weeks," was all Yoongi said before he closed his eyes. Jimin frowned at him.
"Only two weeks, you mean – hey, don't sleep!" He pushed his leg between Yoongi's knees and then leaned forward until he was sitting on Yoongi's lap.
Yoongi grunted at the sudden weight on his legs.

"I had an exhausting day," he mumbled without opening his eyes.
At that, a pout formed on Jimin's lips.
"Me, too, and I still need Tae's present. Come on, let's go to the city and you help me pick one, yeah?" He leaned closer and grinned a little at the smile that fought it's way on Yoongi's lips when his breath hit Yoongi's neck.
He kissed him softly on the neck and on his jaw, mumbling a sweet, "Please? Pretty please?"

Yoongi sighed. "Two weeks, Minnie... Or just go alone. By the way, if you keep going like that, I'm not going anywhere, like, at all," he said and tilted his head to allow Jimin to reach the sensitive spot on his neck.
"I need your advise," Jimin said and chuckled, "And I wanna spend time with you."

"We can spend time together here, too."

"Shut up."

Jimin pressed another kiss to Yoongi's jaw, then another, and then one to his cheek until he reached his mouth to kiss him properly.
"I love Christmas," he mumbled against Yoongi's lips and could practically sense Yoongi rolling his eyes, "You know that."
Yoongi pulled away with a sigh.

"I'm tired," he said and patted Jimin's thighs once.

"I need Taehyung's present," Jimin said and Yoongi groaned.

"Hell, Jimin, this isn't so super important, it doesn't have to be done today, alright?" he said, "I don't even have your present yet and I'm not freaking out about it either!"

Jimin raised his eyebrows. "What?"

"What?" Yoongi looked tired, annoyed. He rubbed his eyes.

"You don't have my present yet?" Jimin ignored the roll of Yoongi's eyes.
"No, I don't," Yoongi said with a shrug, "To be honest, I had neither the time nor the ideas. But I still have two weeks and –"
"No ideas? Have you never listened to me?" Jimin shot Yoongi one last incredulous look, then he got up and walked over to the kitchen table.
"Yoongi, Christmas is in two weeks. That's fourteen days that's not – a lot. That's not a lot. You do know that, right?"

Yoongi dragged his tongue across his teeth and got up as well.
"I know. I'm sorry," was all he said, then he walked past Jimin and towards his bedroom door.
Jimin let out an incredulous huff and turned around.

"Yoongi!"

Yoongi stopped. "What?" he asked and put an extra effort into sounding as annoyed as possible.

"Why don't you care? Why is this not important to you?" Jimin hated himself for the way his voice shook, and he hated that Yoongi just looked annoyed while he himself thought this was pretty important.

"Jimin, it's only Christmas, get over it," Yoongi murmured. Jimin raised his eyebrows.
"Only Christmas?" he asked, "You don't get it, do you?"

"Get what, Jimin? That you have an obsession with Christmas? That you're weirdly passionate about everything being perfect and going according to your plan? That you're getting mad because of something as stupid as Christmas presents? Tell me, because there seem to be plenty of things I'm apparently not getting."

Jimin pressed his lips together. There were tears in his eyes, but he was not going to let them fall.

"You think it's stupid?" he asked quietly. Yoongi's expression softened.
"No, I –" He stopped and gave Jimin an apologetical look. Oh.

"You do," Jimin confirmed, "You think it's stupid and childish, right? Am I embarrassing you, Yoongi?" He glared at him and hoped that it didn't give away how hurt he was.
Yoongi looked conflicted. He blinked a few times.
"I just don't think all of this excitement over a single day is necessary, no," he then chose to say, "You haven't been talking about anything else for the past few weeks."

"Why didn't you tell me that I was annoying you?"

"You're not annoying me, you're –"

"Of course I am, and I'm stupid and childish, it's literally what you just said!"

"Jimin, stop, don't be ridiculous."

"Ridiculous!" Jimin shouted and laughed, "Now I'm being ridiculous, this is only getting better – why don't you break up with me right away? Seems like I'm a pretty bad person, must be exhausting to put up with me!"

Yoongi rolled his eyes. "You should hear yourself, you're not making any sense, oh my God..." He rubbed his eyes and sighed.
Jimin stared at him for a second, then he stormed past him and towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Yoongi asked annoyedly.
"Home. I don't think I'm wanted," Jimin hissed as he put on his shoes and jacket.
"Stop being so aggressive oh my God, what is wrong with –" Yoongi started but Jimin interrupted him again.

"You don't get it, right?"

"Get what, what the fuck are you on about? Talk to me, Jimin!"

Jimin stared at him for a moment.
"This," he said, "Is our first Christmas together." He opened the door and shot Yoongi a last glare.

"But thanks for destroying it."

Then, he left, and made sure to slam the door as loudly as possible.
