Actually, Yoongi hadn't planned on going to Hoseok's that day. He had just wanted to chill at home, watch a movie, get some stuff done; maybe actually do some grocery shopping. But then, his best friend called him and asked him if he wanted to come over. Namjoon would be there, too. Yoongi ended up agreeing, and now, he was seated on Hoseok's couch together with his two friends.
A part of him feared that Namjoon might bring up their conversation from a few days ago, but luckily, he didn't. Yoongi was grateful for that. He hadn't told Hoseok anything about it, and to be honest he was scared that he would say something that he'd regret.
But that wasn't something he wanted to think about right now.
For the most part, Yoongi had to admit that he wasn't really listening to his friends' conversation.
What did catch his attention, however, was when Namjoon said something that definitely included "hang out with everyone", so Yoongi looked up from his phone.
"Huh?" he made, "What did you say?"
Namjoon looked at him. "I was just saying that we should do something together as a group again. It's been a while."
"I would always be up for something," Hoseok sad with a shrug, "I think the person you have to turn to sits right next to me." He pointed at Yoongi without looking at him.
Yoongi locked his phone.
"Shut up," he said, "I wouldn't mind it as well."
He tried not to look at Namjoon, but he failed; there was something like doubt in Namjoon's eyes, and Yoongi hated it, hated what he told Namjoon a few days ago. He should've just kept quiet, when would he finally learn that sometimes, it'd be better if he kept his mouth shut?
"Don't," Yoongi said, "Don't look at me like that. It's Jimin who has a problem with seeing me, not me. I'm over him."
Namjoon blinked and Yoongi knew that he wasn't believing him.
"But he is with Jungkook now, right?" Hoseok said and Yoongi wondered if already everyone knew about Jimin and Jungkook. He wasn't even sure if they were a thing now, but he probably shouldn't care. Jimin's life was none of his business anymore.
(He would never, ever admit that this thought hurt. Not only a bit, but a lot).
"Seeing you shouldn't be a problem anymore."
Yoongi shrugged half-heartedly and looked down at the black display of his phone.
"Go ask him."
"Yeah, maybe I will," Namjoon mumbled. He just stared into space for a few moments before he caught himself again and cleared his throat.
"And you'd be okay with seeing Jimin and Jungkook together?"
Fuck you, Kim Namjoon, Yoongi thought, Fuck you.
"Yeah, sure," Yoongi said as casually as possible, "It's a good thing that they are together, right? It's good that Jimin... that he managed the break up so well."
Yoongi was already talking too much again, so he got up and put his phone in his pocket.
"Where are you going?" Hoseok asked when Yoongi walked around the couch and towards the door that led to Hoseok's balcony. He grabbed his jacket on his way.
"Outside," Yoongi replied as if it was obvious.
"Why?"
"To have a smoke." The same undertone, but this time, Yoongi really had to force it. He didn't look at his friends.
"You haven't smoked for months," Hoseok remembered.
"I know," Yoongi simply replied and stepped outside.
The air was cool, but not unpleasant.
He closed the door behind himself and walked up to the balcony rail, leaning against it.
As he got out the cigarette packet and his lighter, he watched the city in front of him.
The people were coming home from work so the streets were busy, Yoongi could hear it.
The sky was pretty; it was pink and blue and the sun was setting somewhere.
