I woke up on the grass wrapped in three thick blankets, the sun was perched above a cloud and cold danced in-between my toes. I could see light streaming in through the back door and smell something cooking in the kitchen. I checked the time on my phone: 7:30. I'd only gotten 4 hours sleep last night. I groaned into my hand and ran my fingers through my hair. Last night, the thought of it made me laugh. It was possibly one of the best nights I had with her. It was getting to know her, it was her getting to know me. It was talking about her dad, about her mum, about her childhood about anything and everything.

I looked around at the thought of Hayley, I couldn't see her anywhere but her smell still lingered on my shoulder. Then the sound of clashing pans came from inside the house, I followed the sound with the blankets in hand. Hayley stood by the cooker with her back to me. I placed the sheets on one of the dinner chairs and sat down at the breakfast island, my elbows propped up against the cold marble.

"Hayley." her back was to me and her hips swayed lightly. "Damn" I groaned into my arms. "Hayley." I called her again but she didn't turn around, then I spotted the earphones that escaped from her phone. She wore grey tracksuit bottoms that said yummy on the outer thigh and a grey matching jumper with the tongue emoji on the stomach. Her hair was half up half down, probably still wet from her shower.

That every night I'll kiss you you'll say in my ear

Oh we're in love aren't we?

I'd never heard Hayley sing before. I'd never craved to hear anything so much in my life.

Hands in your hair,
fingers and thumbs
Baby

Silk. I'd heard good singers before, and Hayley was far from the best, but something about her voice. It was home. It was like when you walk past a house and smell home made food, and it immediately reminds you of the taste.

I feel safe when you're holding me near
Love that way that you conquer your fear
You know hearts don't break around here.

She moved swiftly around the kitchen and began dishing up the bacon and toaster pancakes. A guy could get use to seeing this everyday.

"Baby." I stood up from my stool and slowly slipped my hands around her waist. They ended up planted just below her stomach. She stiffened at first but slowly relaxed into me, before turning around with her arms around my neck.
"Morning sleepy head." I looked into her eyes and watched her pupils dilate.
"Morning." I said. My voice sounded rough in the morning, but she didn't seem to mind. "Where are your parents?"
"They came when you were asleep. Changed then left for work. They do this every year, and every year we all pretend like I don't know they just had weird parent sex in a hotel." I smiled down at Hayley, to see her looking right back up.
"God you're beautiful in the morning." I shook my head.
"I've been called a lot of things Hayley, beautiful however, isn't one of them." She smiles lightly and my breath hitches.
"I like your voice." Her hands traced over my jaw line. "In the morning it's sound all coarse and sexy." I leant in towards her lips. "Nope. She shook her head. "No time for sexy sexy Hayley. You need to eat and get ready." I rolled my eyes, but before I could protest a plate of food was shoved under my nose.
"Eat."
