You shouldn't have...

Class dragged. The bell rang after I'd been given two assignments, together resulting in 45% of my grade. I'd have to find a person any person, famous or not and break down their psyche.
Find out what makes them tick?
What deep issues lay at sea bed, personally I thought it was a bit intrusive.
The second paper was to be about someone who was labelled "psychologically damaged." I'd have to justify the crazy actions of a crazy person. I wanted to do my dad, I thought it'd be fitting, but nobody here knew about him. I kept it a secret, and I wanted it to stay like that.
I couldn't find Hayley in the sea of teenagers. The hall was pretty packed but I wasn't worried, the table I usually sat at was off bounds to most, like it was marked. Even if we weren't sitting there it wasn't to be used. It wasn't a rule really, more an unspoken agreement. From what I've heard things were like this way before I came.
"Ryan." Dan was waving me over, he looked in desperate need of someone else to talk to, Jordan and Lea sat with him. No Hayley though.
"Hey." The girls said in unison. Dan turned to me.
"Kill me now." He muttered.
"So where's Hayley?"
"She's stuck in lunch detention." Jordan replied.
"Why?"
"Her phone rang in class. It was her sister."
"She probably wouldn't even be in detention if she didn't answer it." Lea added.
"Exactly. She claimed it was literally a matter of life or death?"
"That's it?" Dan asked.
"No, she called Mr Ringer a creepy dickwad."
"Respect." Dan nudged me " Your girls a legend." I laughed.
"Yeah." Although I couldn't help but wander if Hayley was telling the truth. If her sister was really in a life or death situation? She would've told me if something was happening though, right? I would've been able tell, wouldn't I?
"I'm not very hungry" I stood
"Where you going?"
"To break my girl out of detention."
"Can I be of service?" Dan already had this mischievous look in his eyes.
"Fine." He followed behind me.
"For a minute I thought you'd say no and leave me with those two fake cyclones."
"Fake cyclones?"
"Yes Ryan. I know what I said, try holding an actual conversation with them. It's the most tedious thing you could try."
"So why sit with us? You know I'd move if you did."
"Yeah and so would Hayley."
"You don't like her?" I've never thought to ask Dan this before.
"It's not Hayley, I don't like, it's the fake cyclones that follow her."
"Well, speak of the devil." We stopped in front of Mr Ringers classroom.
"So what's the plan?" I grabbed a page from one of my school books and wrote in black letters:
We're here to rescue you princess. Run when you can.
I could see through the glass in the door Hayley was glaring down Mr ringer. No way would I want to be him right now.
After moments of trying to get Hayley's attention. She finally notices me, and her eyebrows scrunch after she reads the note. I scrunch it up at throw it on the floor.
"You fucking idiot man." I grab Dans collar and push him against the locker.
"What the hell dude?"
"Go along with it?" Dan smiles.
"You are such an ass Ryan" He erupts. Dan pushed me up against a locker and the clash echoed in my ear. Just like I was counting on, Mr Ringer comes outside.
"Boys. Boys." He pushes Dan off me. "I expected more of you. Now sort this out now, or I'll be forced to make you join my student in detention. Are you going to tell me what happened or can you deal with this like men?"
"We were." Retorts Dan.
"Now listen hear Mr Carmichael-" I looked past Mr Ringer and saw Hayley looking at me quizzically. I nodded my head towards the Janitors closet and soon enough I could see her slipping behind the door.
"Look we're sorry." I came back to the conversation.
"Yeah, you know boys." Dan added. I could tell Mr Ringer was surprised by our sudden compliance.
"Good. Now be on your way and I'll act as if I didn't see you two making a mockery of the schools expectations." It took all my strength not to roll my eyes, before he turned away and entered his class room.
"That was close."
"It's not over yet."
"Wh-"
"Have you boys seen Ms Hayley Rhys, blue hair."
"No." He looked to Dan.
"No sir."
"Okay." He turned back into his class room "Now stop loitering boys." And with that he shut his classroom door.
"What a dick."
"Yeah." I agreed.
"You owe me by the way." Dan tapped me on the shoulder and headed to his locker " Now go get your girl."
I opened the closet and was almost instantly pulled in.
"I was wondering when you'd show up, Montgomery."
"Well you know me I love to keep a lady waiting."
"Unfortunately in this moment in time, there are no ladies in here." I could hear the playful smirk in her tone, before I was pulled toward her mouth. It was a searing kiss, more like she needed me, it wasn't want. These moments took something from me. They made me feel a certain way, a way I was scared of feeling. It was intense, like taking a drug, the high is amazing but the withdrawal could kill. I haven't experienced withdrawal yet. I never wanted to.
"God." She pulled away. "You make it really hard not to want you."
"Right back at ya."
I wrapped my arms around her and she tucked her head under my chin. "I guess you could tell Mr Ringer you went toilet."
"Mmm." She nodded.
"So why didn't you tell me something real is happening with your sister?" There was silence.
"How did you find out?"
"That's not the point, you didn't tell me, that's the point." She pulled away from me.
"Are you actually mad?"
"Of course I'm mad. I'm your boyfriend and you love your sister and I expect you to feel comfortable telling me things. How can I be there for you if you don't tell me these things. Especially about the biggest stress in your life."
"I didn't ask you to be there for me Ryan." She said my name, that was like a blow of reality. "God you make everything about you Ry, this for once isn't anything to do with you. I get everything at home is, but me, my sister isn't all about Ryan."
"No it's about you. I know that. I want you to know that you can talk to me. Even those times when you feel you sound self absorbed, I want you to be able to talk to me without thinking."
"Why Ryan?" She ran a hand through her hair "You don't tell me things without thinking. I see it in you eyes. Like today at the locker. You were going to say something, what was it?" I love you. I was going to slip up. I was going to say I love you.
"I don't know what your talking about Hayley."
"Of course."
"Can you just stop trying to change the subject, for God sake. For one second can we talk about a vulnerability of Hayley Fucking Rhys."
"Don't do that."
"What? Be truthful."
"No don't act like I'm a bitch to you. Like I treat you like I do everyone else. If there is one person I'm real with in this school it is you. Don't say my name like I'm the bitch everyone thinks I am."
"I don't think your a bitch Hayley. I think you have trust issues. Not over big things, like your sisters illness or your dad, over small things. Over details that shape you, that make you Hayley. You're afraid if I find out these details, I'll find out who Hayley Rhys is and I might not like her-"
"God Ryan stop trying to analyse me, stop thinking you know me."
"I don't know you, trust me. Oh Wait, you can't do that can you?" She looked at me as if I'd just delivered the last punch, to tell the truth, I probably did.
"Low blow jerk." She barged past me and walked out of the closet. Shit.
I should have ran after her. I should have said sorry. I should have never let her push me away. I shouldn't have brought it up, but I did. I fought with her and I watched her walk away from me.
Withdrawal came sooner than expected .
