I'm at a party. My mum is lying to me, my sisters hiding something and my girlfriends ignoring me, but I'm at a party. I'm drunk. The aim was to stay sober, especially as I'd been told Hayley never missed a party- but I was two hours in and she was no where to be seen. That was until she barged straight in through the front doors, and did that Hayley thing.
You know, the grab everyone's attention, thing. It worked.
She was dressed in high waisted jeans, a cardigan and boobs. I'm pretty sure she was wearing a top but I don't remember that, I was drunk. I was at a party, and there were definitely boobs. No room for argument.
Hayley saunters over to the kegger without so much as a glance in my direction. Ouch.
Now, I need to emphasise one last time, how drunk I was. DRUNK. So drunk I took off my shirt and made my way over to Hayley. She saw me now, that was for sure, I was two strong steps away from her and getting closer by the second.
"I was wondering when you'd come say hi."
"I've been texting you all week."
"I know." She winked at me and tried to walk off. She was playing me, trying to leave me with my jaw hanging open like all the other guys she played with. I was not one of them.
"Stop." I grabbed her arm. "Stop fucking me about Hayley. I'm not chasing you anymore, this is bullshit. You like to tease boys and play with them then turn around and act the fucking victim. That's what makes you a bitch. A bitch okay? I said it, it's true. You're a bitch. But I love you despite that and you can't even see it." Her face softened.
"Forget it, if you're done. I'm done." I wanted to walk away, I really did, but her eyes were telling me to stay. So I stood frozen. Frozen until she smiled up at me and pulled my neck to her. She pushed her lips onto mine and even through all the alcohol, I knew I wouldn't forget this moment, her lips were soft, I missed it. Her hands ran through my curls and tugged at the ends. It was an 'I'm sorry kiss' and though I knew this wasn't it, that we still had so much to talk about, but nothing else mattered. Nothing else until she pulled apart and whispered in my ear "take me upstairs."
