Dan settled on black trainers, dark blue jeans and a black short sleeve v-neck. Supposedly it's the 'Damon Salvatore look.'
"Okay are you ready?" I pulled up into Hayley's drive way. I wasn't as nervous as Dan, in fact I don't think I was nervous at all. Hayley and me were fine, things felt naturally comfortable. I didn't get nervous around her, she didn't get nervous around me.
"I'm not nervous Ryan."
"Whatever Dan. Hayley told me to text her."
"Why don't we just go to the door?"
"I don't know. She told me to text."
"Okay"
Me: downstairs.
Almost 5 minutes later Hayley and Grace came climbing out their windows. I rushed out of the car.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"We're not allowed out." Grace fumbled around on the ledge. Hayley shimmied down the drain pipe, I guess she'd done this before.
"Hey." She jumped down, and wrapped her arms around my neck.
"Hey." I smiled smiled lightly before she turned around towards her sister.
"I can't shimmy I'll rip my dress." Grace gripped on to the pipe, her feet barely on the ledge.
"Just jump Grace."
Dan stepped in front of us. "I'll catch you."
Hayley turned to me and smiled, I smiled back. I knew what she was thinking. 'Aww he's so cute. I ship them.' I rolled my eyes.
"Dan I swear to God if you don't catch my sister-"
"Shit," and Grace was off the ledge, she squeaked and jumped. Her eyes were clenched tight and when she opened them she smiled.
"Oh my gosh."
"Warning next time." Dan laughed off his nerves and smiled down at her. His hands were still on her waist.
"Umm." Hayley cleared her throat. "Sorry to interrupt but we should go before mum eats us alive or dad comes home and shoots my boyfriend." Dan broke his gaze first then removed his hands.
"Yeah you're right." Grace headed for the car with him behind her.
"Shotgun." He swung his arm around Grace's shoulder. "Sorry sweetheart." She shrugged him off.
"You're the one who's missing out." She put her hand on her hip and opened the car door.
"You tell him sis." Hayley laughed from my side.
"Oh and Dan." He turned around to look at me.
"Yeah?"
"My girls here. You're not riding shotgun." The girls laughed.
"You got told D." Grace stuck her tongue out from the backseat.
Dan glared at them "Don't laugh at me," He pointed to Grace "and we are not friends. Don't call me D."
"You're just upset because Ryan's a real man."
"Hey back off slut that's my boyfriend." Hayley teased.
"Really. Ryan why didn't you tell me?" The girls started laughing again. I looked from sister to sister.
"Aww he's blushing." Dan taunted.
"Shut up." He put his hands up in surrender and sat down next to Grace in the car, closing the door behind him.
"Hey you." Hayley slipped from my side and wrapped her arms around my waist.
"Yeah?"
"I liked your playlist."
"You did?"
"Mhmm." She nodded
"Good. I haven't finished the book yet though."
"Okay well don't tell me what you think of it until the end."
"Great."
"Great." I turned to open the car door. "One more thing." She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards her. My lips connected with hers, and I felt everything all over again, I wondered if it'd always be like this; If this is how it feels when you really like someone, or if this is only with Hayley. I wondered if we'd loose the spark.
Her hands travelled to my waist, and even though I knew we'd only been kissing for seconds, with her it felt like an over rehearsed dance-Something I'd done a thousand times before. I felt a smile creep up on to her lips and she pulled away.
"What the hell was that for?" I looked down at her flushed cheeks. My head rested on her shoulder and I could feel her breathing heavily. I waited until I could hear her breath steadying and took my head off her shoulder. She was staring at me when I looked at her, and as if on cue, I laughed- and the best part is, she laughed with me.
"I knew you missed me Montgomery." Her hand slid below my belt and she squeezed.
"Oh fuck."
Control Ryan. She's playing a game. Just control.
Then she smiled and her eyes lit up and her swollen lips curved into a smile, and it was the sexiest things I'd ever seen.
"There he is." She smiled again and removed her hand.
Two can play that game.
I took a small step towards her, she took one back. Until she was pressed against the trunk of my .
"If you were trying to make me want you, good job. But I wouldn't test me Rhys- because I won't hesitate to kick those two out of the car and take you in my back seat whilst all the passers by look in through the window and wish they were us." She didn't say anything, her eyes didn't break mine, she didn't move and funnily enough I didn't want her to.
"Are we leaving or what? This ones just about ready to kill me."
"That's right douche face." Grace's voice travelled from behind Dan.
"You're right. Let's go." I walked towards the car.
"You coming Hayley?" I asked, eyebrow lifted and smirk clear.
"Umm yeah." She cleared her throat raked her fingers through her hair. "Yeah." Her hand slipped into mine and she climbed into the front seat.
