"Hey," Ashley jumped in between me and Hayley on the swing. She wore a bright smile and the powerful aroma of alcohol. "Are you two a thing?"
"No." I said it at the same time as Hayley. I looked at her, she looked away.
"I have been hitting on you all night Ryan. Every single time we talk you seem to be looking at her, or just not at me. Should I take affensives to that?"
She raised an eyebrow at me. One this time, if it wasn't so sloppy it would've been cute.
"Well you have my full attention now." I gave Hayley a small smile goodbye and stood up. "Let's get you some food. You need to soak up some of that alcohol."
Ashley giggled and took my hand. "What's the fwun in that?" I carried her back into the house. Only a few were dancing now, most were passed out or laughing at there phones. I'm guessing they got good shots of Dan.
"You're sweet you know that." Ashley lay down on the sofa and snuggled into her own arms. It was adorable.
"Is that so?" I sat down beside her and she stretched her legs over mine.
"Yeah. Not like Jake. Jake's a wang."
"A wang?"
"Yeah a wang."
"What's a wang?"
"I dunno, but it doesn't sound good. Wang, wang, wang, wang. Actually this is pretty fun wa-"
"Are you high?"
"No." There was a moment of silence.
"Why is Jake a wang?"
"He just is. He use to date Hayley. They dated for a year. When Hayley's sister got some diseases or something -it looked like she was gonna lose Grace."
"Grace?"
"Her sister."
"Oh." I remembered the necklace she wore, the gold one. The one she wore now. I wondered if she always wore her sisters name."Okay, carry on."
"Well that wang said that he couldn't be the guy she cried to if Grace died. He said he had to break things off because he wasn't sympathetic- and she needed sympathetic. He claimed he broke up cause he wasn't good enough. I thinks it's cause she wouldn't have sex with him."
"Well why do you think that? Maybe he wasn't good enough for Hayley."
"He wasn't, doesn't mean that's why they broke up though. It's just- Jake isn't that deep. He pretends to be but he is so shallow. A total wanger."
"Wow."
"Yep. That's what I mean, total wang."
"Are you hungry?" I decided to change the topic, somehow a conversation about Hayley without Hayley felt like betrayal.
"No, I just wanna sleep with You" I looked down at her "here" she added. "I just wanna sleep with you here. As in what we're doing now. As in actual sleep."
"Okay." Her cheeks blushed a deep red and she released a small breath. I pulled out my phone from my back pocket.

Dan: I win.. 🖕🏾

Followed by a picture of a sleeping tall brunette, wait, tall brunette.

Me: That quick?

Dan: Never underestimate the master.

Me: One word: How?

Dan: I'll tell you tomorrow. Come round in the AM. Brothers will be there so don't utter the word party.

Me: Got it.

He sent me a picture of the girls clothes on the floor. Followed by a thumbs up. I smiled and swiped up to see a message from my sister.

Emily: Got the blood out the sofa thanks for asking.
11:30

Emily: Where the fuck are you? 00:00

Emily: Mum's home I told her you were at Dan's...
00:22

Emily: Are you actually coming home today... ffs... Where are you?
00:45

Emily: Ryan sleep at Dan's if you come in you'll wake mum..
1:30

I didn't answer any texts. I didn't need to. Mum wasn't worried and I didn't answer to my sister.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Yeah." I smiled up at Hayley. "Are we dropping Ashley?" I looked down at the small girl beside me. Her lips looked swollen like she'd been kissing and her hair was a mess. Although she didn't look bad, she looked staged. Like in action movies where the main character comes out with scrapes and marks all over her body- but still perfectly filled in eyebrows.
"Well we can't leave her here." Jake stumbled into the conversation.  He fell on top of Ashley and she jumped up.
"Oww." She looked at me and back to Jake. "Stupid wang." She muttered. I smiled and the both of us started laughing.
"I guess I can drive her home." Jake smiled down at Ashley and I swear I saw her cringe.
"Look your not fit to drive, you can kill yourself but not Ash." Hayley turned to us. "What's so fucking funny?" I stifled my laugh, but one look at her face and it set me off again.
"Whatever. Come on you two lunatics, to the car."
"We're lunatics did you here?" I turned to Ashley. She walked beside me.
"At least we're not wangs." We  laughed again but this time Hayley laughed with us. She was walking with Jake, his arm was flung around her shoulder and he was whispering things into her ear. Suddenly the joke wasn't funny anymore.
Ashley spent the walk laughing at made up words, some even I found funny. We were drunk. Her more than me. By the time we reached the car, Jake was gone and Hayley walked in front of us.
I clambered into the backseat with Ash giggling as she went.
"So where to?"
"21 golfroad street."
"You mean 21 golfstreet road?"
"Yeah that's what I said."
"Whatever." Hayley rolled her eyes and drove off. Ashley's head fell onto my shoulder.
"Where are you going?"
"Da-" I was going to say Dans house, but he's with the girl. I'm guessing they're either asleep or doing something I don't really want to watch.
"I don't know, I can't go home."
"Come to mine." Both Hayley and Ashley said at the same time.
"Your dads a cop Hayley." Ash tapped my shoulder "Anyway, my house is nearer, my mum leaves for work at like 6:00 and my little brother will love you."
"Okay." I shook my head. She smiled and lay her head back on my shoulder.
"So your dad's a cop?" I asked. Hayley nodded but she didn't look at me in her mirror.
"Yeah, he'd probably shoot you. Plus you'd have to sleep on the sofa in my house."
"What's that meant to mean?" The sleeping girl on my shoulder suddenly sat up. She crossed her arms and huffed.
"Nothing."
"I'm not gonna fuck him or anything. God. Could you try and hide the fact that you think I'm a slut. He can sleep in my bed but nothing's gonna happen." She slouched and lowered her head back on my shoulder. "You know that right?" Her annoyance was directed at me now.
"Yeah of course." She smiled and her head went back down. I looked up and saw Hayley in the rear view mirror. She rolled her eyes and scanned the situation before turning back to face the road.
I watched her carefully, coming to a solid conclusion:
Hayley Rhys feels, she doesn't show it much, it happens only once in a while, but it happens - I get to see it. Whenever she's with anyone else she's not the girl I fancy, she's a bitch. The same bitch that has to pretend to be okay with Jake the wang, the same top bitch that every boy-even Dan- has tried to bang and the same bitch that dominates over girls like Ashley.

Hayley Rhys is a bitch... Sometimes.
