26. June ❀ age 5

Richie explored his sister carefully as she was drawing a picture of someone. She was wasn't actually his sister. She wasn't. She just wasn't. They were so different from each other, yet people still called them siblings, twins. Richie never understood why.

His sister, Riley, was older than him with near three years. She had brown hair and blue eyes. She was nothing like Richie. Richie had brown eyes and black hair. And glasses decorating his face.

Riley always said that Richie looked cute, but she just said that so that mom wouldn't get mad at her. She's eight after all.

"What are you doing?" Richie asked Riley and leaned on his hand.

"a picture" she replied emotionless.

"Of?"

"of me and my friends, idiot. Can you just leave me be?" she said sharply.

"But it's summer? Aren't you suppose to be playing outside?" Richie asked.

"I like to draw....but clearly I can't do that either " she laughed sarcastically. "Since you're always there to pick on me"

"I'm not picking on you" Richie protested, sliding down from the chair and walking to his sister and staring at her. "Riles?"

"I said don't call me that, Rich" she said annoyingly.

"Can you take me and Eddie to the carnival?"

"No" she said, almost cutting Richie off. "I'm not. I'm eight. I can't' take you two anywhere"

"But whyyyy?" Richie whined.

"Because I said so. Besides, I have so much to do and I'm hanging out with my friends and not you two weirdos"

Richie puckered his brows and grabbed Riley's pen and threw it across the room. "You're no fun!"

"Richie! What the heck?!" Riley screamed and jumped up from the chair, bumping Richie to the side, so that he fell on his buttocks.

"Oww!" he cried out and groaned on the floor.

Riley ran to her pen and grabbed it before turning around and seeing Richie laying on the floor, rubbing his butt cheeks over his shorts.

"OH MY GOD! RILEY!" mom's voice yelled from the door. She ran to her son and helped him up. "Are you okay? What happened, Richie baby?"

Richie gave a glance at Riley, who's heart was beating out of her chest. If mom would find out that Riley had pushed Richie down, it'd be a summer inside her room in that case.

"I fell...I was about to grab a glass from the top shelf but I fell" Richie pouted.

"Oh baby.. you should've asked Riley to help you" mom turned to Riley, who was squeezing the pen in her hands.

"She had so much homework. I didn't bother to bother" Richie nodded. His mom ruffled his hair and kissed his forehead.
