February age 8

It was Valentine's day.

The school's hallways were decorated in heart shaped paper and pink posters, where people could write nice things about each other.

and since pink really was valentine's day's color, eddie decided to dress with the rules.

as maggie tozier pulled up on the kasbprak driveway on that foggy thursday morning to pick eddie up to school, it was like a whole new person had stepped out of that door.

small eddie, hair on beautiful little waves, a pink T shirt on, tugged into his beige shorts, a blue backpack hanging from his other shoulder. there was pins attached to it too, a bear and a cat. also eddie's socks, which reached almost to his knees, had two pink stripes on the top, adding a nice touch to eddie's look.

he opened the back door and sat next to richie, who's eyes were burning onto eddie. "morning, ms tozier."

"morning, eddie" maggie smiled and began driving away.

then eddie turned to richie, while he was buckling his seatbelt. "what? is there something on my face?"

"wha- no. no, it's just...you look great eds" richie smiled and gave him a thumbs up.

"yeah? I thought cause it's valentine's day, it'd be nice to wear pink" eddie blushed.

"it's valentine's day?" richie gasped. "Mom! why didn't you tell me!"

maggie chuckled. "what do you get from it being valentine's day?"

"we could've get chocolate for eddie" richie pouted.

"mommy says i'm allergic to chocolate" eddie waved his hand. "so it doesn't really matter. it's okay richie"

"no one's allergic to chocolate" richie laughed and waved his hand. eddie frowned.

"people can be allergic to almost anything, richie" maggie said from the front seat.

"no! shut up! really? you could be fucking allergic to chocolate?!" richie gasped.

"richard tozier! language!" maggie exclaimed harshly. the boy with the huge glasses crossed his arms and rolled his eyes at her. then he turned to eddie who was looking out of the window.

"sorry eds, i didn't mean to ignore your....symptom?"

the smaller boy turned to richie and shook his head. "it's fine, but don't call me that"

"okay, eds"

eddie slapped his hand against richie's shoulder. to be honest, it felt like richie was bumped with a flower. that's how small slap it was.

"alright, boys. here's your stop." maggie stopped in front of the school. "i'll be here to pick you up at 1pm, okay?"

"okay, ma" richie nodded and before unbuckling his seatbelt, he unbuckled eddie's. then he unfastened his and jumped out of the car, waiting for eddie to come around from the other side. when eddie's small figure appeared from behind the car, richie grinned and linked their arms together.
