January age 10

"it's gonna take you a lot to take me away from you" eddie sang while richie spun him around.

"there's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do" richie continued, wrapped his arm behind eddie's back and dipped him down.

"I bless the rains down in Africa" they both sang in sync and crossed their fingers with the other's, pushing away from each other and pulling back. "gonna take some time to do the things we never had"

eddie giggled as richie let go of him and the vinyl player stopped playing. "we should do this more often"

"what, sing and dance?" richie asked while wiping his glasses to his shirt.

"yeah. we never get to hang out just you and me anymore. it's always with the others. this could be our thing" eddie grinned.

"you do have a point eds, but we gotta switch up the songs cause I know i'll get tired to this song" richie put the glasses on his nose.

"depends what records you have" eddie pointed out. "your vinyl, your records"

richie looked at eddie for a while until opening his mouth. "we have Starman"

eddie sat on the couch in the Tozier house living room. he looked at the picture frames on the cabinet in the corner. he had seen those pictures a hundred times, the ones where's richie as a baby, so as riley and their family portrait. but now there was new pictures.

"hey what do we have here" eddie smirked and walked to the pictures.

"what?" richie turned around to see what eddie meant. his eyes widened. "nothing! eddie it's nothing! don't-"

"woah, richie, is this you wearing a sailor costume?" eddie almost bursted out laughing.

"shut up! richie snatched the phone from eddie's hands and shoved it under his shirt. "ma made riley and I go to this stupid fucking photoshoot and they made me wear these stupid clothes..."

"hey, i think you looked pretty good" eddie laughed lightly and grabbed richie's wrist and pulled his hand from under his shirt. he grabbed the photo and looked at it closely.

"you look weird with hair pulled back though..." eddie mumbled.

"i look like an absolute idiot"

"remember the picture I had in a sailor suit? that's worse, rich" eddie looked over his shoulder at the taller boy.

"but there's a difference. you look cute in sailor clothes, I don't" richie chuckled. "so don't pull that shit on me"

eddie rolled his eyes and put the picture down. "fine. i'll shut up about it, but it doesn't mean I agree with you"

richie flashed eddie a smile before heading to the kitchen. the windows were frosted from the chilly air outside on that Saturday. Went Tozier was outside creating snow and Maggie was at the attic cleaning it from the old useless, broken stuff. (a/n aka me) and riley was out with her friend, barb. so richie and eddie could be in their own peace, giggling mindlessly.
