i'm pretty sure this is gonna be everyone's favorite chapter. also this is the longest so far. enjoy :)

october  ❀ age 16-17  

it was the big night. 

it was both, richie's and eddie's show time.
richie's time to shine in football and eddie's first time being apart of the cheersquad on a game.

while the football players were getting their wear on and getting ready for the game, the cheersquad was putting their outfits on and stretching their legs and arms.
and since eddie was a guy, he couldn't be in the girls locker room, but he also declined the offer to go with the football players to change. so he satisfied to the school handicaps bathroom.

it had a bigger mirror, helping him putting on the outfit. so, he finished putting the red-black-white colored skirt and T shirt on. the skirt reached a bit over his mid thighs and the shirt, hugging his body smoothly, the sleeves covering his shoulders. the front of the T said 'derry high school 84'.
then eddie put on the knee high socks and white sneakers, the cheersquad had given him.

after that, he looked himself in the mirror, swallowing thickly.

this is the first time the whole school has seen him like this.

yeah, maybe some of them had seen him in the cheerpractice and told their friends, but it had mostly become a rumor now.

but now, eddie was just confirming it. he was pretty much coming out to the whole school.

was he ready? was he ready for the public humiliation which would follow from this?

"eddie?" a voice cut him off and a small knock on the door.

"who is it?" eddie asked.

"it's bev"

"now's not a good moment" eddie's voice was shivering.

"come on ed..."

"no seriously bev...how'd you even know I was here?"

"I saw you walking in...come on, open the door...what is it?"

"you're gonna laugh" eddie was in the verge of tears.

"what do you mean? why would I do that?" bev let out a breathy laugh.

eddie sighed and opened the door carefully. beverly's eyes widened as he saw eddie. her eyes traveled from eddie's to his outfit, mostly to the skirt.

"woah" she blurted out. "I didn't know you were..."

"i look like an idiot to you...don't I?" eddie let few tears slip out.

"what? oh no no no, eddie no" bev shook her head and pushed in the bathroom, embracing eddie in a hug. "don't be like that, eddie..."

bev shut the door with her feet and flicked the lock on. she kept hugging eddie and kissed the top of his head. "you're really beautiful...so pretty, eddie..."

"you're saying that cause you're my friend" eddie sniffled.

"no, I wouldn't lie. If I didn't like it, i'd be rambling and laughing nervously. but i'm doing neither of those things" bev pulled back a little and cupped eddie's cheeks. "you look amazing"
