december age 19

it was a funny story how richie ended up sitting on a chair inside of the new york radio recording room where they recorded their every morning podcasts.
lucky, as few would say.

see, it all started with him getting to work. like every day.

it had been a normal day so far. serving customers. spilling a little bit of coffee on the floor, scrubbing it off, getting attitude from customers and calling eddie, when eddie had lunch time.

"i'm telling you, baby, it's okay" richie sighed on the phone.

"rich, I don't want you working in a place where they treat you like trash" eddie said on the other line.

"I can't quit now. then we'd have nothing where we got the money" richie rubbed his temples with his other hand.

god he was stressed.

"i'll start tutoring!" eddie exclaimed so hard, that richie had to pull the phone away from his ear for a second. "yeah! yeah, i'll start taking tutor classes! outside of school! what do you think?"

"where?" richie asked.

"at the library or...at some coffee shop...or even out our house" eddie chirped.

richie sighed uncomfortably. "what would you be tutoring?"

"anything. anything at all. math, english, physics, chemistry, geography...I was good at school, richie. are you doubting me?"

"no, of course not. I just...I don't know do I like the idea of you being with strangers"

"jealous much?" eddie said and richie could almost sense the smirk in his voice.

"no, just really worried" richie chuckled. "but...if you're sure. but can you keep the few first tutorings on a public place. and if you bring them home, make sure I'm home."

"Okay, okay, but I need to put up a notification about it anyways. i'll put it up on the headboard of the school tomorrow."

"yeah...sounds good" richie sighed, feeling a little bit relieved that they had come up with a new way to make money.

richie was this close to become a hooker on the streets.

"i need to go, now. i'll see you at home" eddie said and made a kissing sound. "Love you"

"love you too, sweet pea" richie smiled and hang up. he looked around the café for while, until taking the apron off. he peeked into the backroom to see his manager organizing some papers.

"hey, I uhm.." richie stepped fully in. "I was thinking...I've been doing a lot of extra work and taking extra shifts...and if it's possible to raise my salary a bit?"

the manager lifted a brow and looked at richie. he leaned on the table and sighed. "well I guess you have been working...like everyone else. nice try tozier"

the manager turned around and continued. richie groaned. "But sir-"

"richie, you are a good worker, yes, but I can't just raise everyone's salary. you all do amazing work, but I can't just do that, okay? i'm sorry. I would if I could, but I can't. i'll let you know if there is something I could do"
