"It's legal." Richie said, mouth dry, looking at the news paper in front of him.
"What?" Eddie lifted his head from the book he was reading.
"It's. Legal." Richie looked at Eddie now.
"Are you...Are you serious?" Eddie whispered.
"It's legal in Canada."
Eddie gulped and blinked deeply. "Richie..."
"Eddie. Let's get married in Canada." Richie's lips quirked up a bit.
"Richie, you're saying gay marriage is legal in..Canada?" Eddie croaked out. Richie only nodded, black curls bouncing on his head.
"Wanna hop on a plane and get married?" Richie asked and before he noticed, Eddie was straddling his lap and kissing his face. "Is that a yes?"
"Yes! Yes! Let's do it! I don't want to wait any longer." Eddie giggled. Richie chuckled and kissed Eddie back, but pulled back for a second. "Hold on, babe."
"What?" Eddie asked.
"You wanted a proper wedding right? You know, the isle walking and all." Richie stroked Eddie's cheek. He could feel Eddie's muscles relax a bit and his shoulders lowered.
"Yeah..."
"That's gonna take a while to plan." Richie admitted.
Eddie was quiet for a moment, until laying his head on Richie's shoulder and letting out a sigh. "So we're gonna have to wait another year. Maybe two. Or three. Since every gay person is storming to reserve a wedding."
Richie ran his hands down the small of Eddie's back and pulled him tighter against him. "Well should we start planning and reserving, rather than cuddling on the kitchen chair?"
Eddie immediately jerked up and grinned. "Yes!" And with that being said, he climbed off Richie and ran to the phone. "Where do I have to call? Some kind of...office of Canada?"
"You're shaking, honey." Richie smiled and took the phone from Eddie's hands. "If I make the call since you can't even keep your pants up."
Eddie tightened the strings of his shorts and shoved Richie to the side. "Fuck off and make the call. I'm getting my wedding board!"
"Your what?" Richie cocked a brow.
"Just make the call dumbass!"
-
"And peach colored flowers!" Eddie exclaimed in the phone.
"I think Amber heard that too." Bev said in the phone.
Eddie rubbed his eyes a bit and sighed. "I'm sorry Bev. I'm just so excited. Finally after waiting so long, I can finally get married with Richie...How's Amber anyways."
"Crying cause we didn't buy her that little cow plushie she saw at the store the other day." Bev chuckled tiredly.
"I miss that little cutie." Eddie smiled.
"Well, you'll see her at the wedding, which is soon eh?"
"Yeah! When Richie called the...marriage...office...They said we got lucky. One spot had opened which is in two months."
"You're gonna have to quicken your planning though. The band and the food-"
"Stop. I got it all planned out. Sage said she has a few wild cards." Eddie smiled excitedly.
"Such as...?"
"Such as her brother owns a bakery. And she herself plays the piano so we're already winning!"
"Well, if you ever need help, just give me a call. Maybe the band that was in Ben and I's wedding could play in yours. If they're available."
"Thanks Bev. Oh, I need to go. Richie came home. I need to tell him about my plans."
"So how much saying does Richie have in your wedding?" Bev laughed.
"About a solid 0.1 percent." Eddie smiled and said his goodbyes before hanging up.
"Who was that?" Richie asked as he took off his shoes.
"Bev. Said if we need help with anything, we can just call." Eddie told and tip toed to give a kiss to Richie's forehead. "Had a fun day?"
"Yeah, it was alright. And I got the invitations like you asked." Richie held a box in his hands. "95 invitations."
"Thank you." Eddie took them. "Wanna stay up and write addresses with me?"
"Really? At 10pm on a Wednesday evening?"
"The wedding is in two months. We don't have time to lay around. These invitations need to go out as soon as possible. Usually people start planning three months before the big day, but-"
"Okay, I got it Einstein. I'll write them with you." Richie put his hands on Eddie's shoulders and laughed a little. Eddie smiled brightly and opened the box, looking at the rather small piece of slightly pinkish, hard paper, which had delicate little letters.
'Please join us for the wedding of Richie & Eddie

"Well isn't this the cutest." Eddie smiled and walked to the kitchen table. "It's perfect."
"Like you!" Richie kissed Eddie's neck and spun him around from behind.
"Idiot! Put me down!" Eddie giggled.
Richie gave a kiss behind Eddie's ear before gently putting Eddie back down. "Right. So shall we get to writing."
"Yes we shall." Eddie smiled.
