summer was nearing its end. nobody was exactly excited about this. well, it's school what we're talking about. who would be excited.

it was a grey day in derry. justin was driving towards the school, eddie on the passenger seat of his car. he parked the black car on the parking spot, known as his and stepped out, eddie following.

"I'm surprised your mom lets me drive you to school" justin stretched his arms out.

"she's been more relaxed lately. it's probably because of the new man at their work. it's whatever to me. it gives me privileges I didn't have before" eddie shrugged. "like you dropping me off to school"

"and hanging around at your place" justin smirked. "hey, speaking of...when are you coming to my place? not that there's anything wrong with your place, it's just that we've never been to mine"

eddie's stomach tightened. the thought of being in justin's house, especially alone with him...in his house, wasn't eddie's ideal thought.

justin's parents were always out, giving the whole house to justin, no one around the help, also according to the fact that they did live in a big house, neighbors a bit further away. not exactly a farm neighborhood. you could see the neighbors houses, it's just that, they were a bit further away, unable to hear if anyone screamed in justin's house.

"I don't know...I got a lot of homework"

"schools just started, how can you have a lot of homework?" justin lifted his brow in a amused way.

eddie flushed red. "I need to go. see you later"

"but-"

"i really gotta go" eddie waved his hand at the blue eyed boy, who just shrugged and locked his car.

eddie ran in school, the sight of mike closing his locker ahead of him. he speed walked to him and let out a breath as he was next to him. the chocolate eyed boy flinched and turned to look at eddie who looked rather pale.

"eddie? you alright?"

"yeah, hi mike...i'm...i'm okay" eddie assured and looked up at the other boy, giving him a small smile.

"did you run to school or....why are you so...out of breath?" mike lifted a brow.

"no, justin dropped me off...it's just that he-" eddie stopped himself before he had said anything about going to justin's place. could he tell to mike? mike. oh sweet mike. he wouldn't judge anyone. he wouldn't tell anyone either. eddie could trust mike with his own life.

"yes?" mike asked, leaning onto the lockers now.

"we uh...mike can I tell you a secret?" eddie whispered. mike looked around, straightening his posture and nodding.

"yeah, sure"

"you have to promise me not to tell anyone, okay?" eddie said seriously.

"I won't, i promise" mike assured and looked deep in eddie's eyes.

"well, justin and I...have been dating for a while" eddie was basically mouthing the words to mike at the end of his sentence, not to catch any attention to them.
