January ❀ age 7

Schools has start.

Richie tapped his leg against the snowy ground in front of the Denbrough house, waiting for his friend. His red nose was buried deep behind his grey, thin scarf, which barely covered his neck. His hands were stuffed in his pockets of the big ski jacket he had borrowed from his father.

His glasses were fogged up and his hair was curled and snowy in the ends. richie was freezing to death.

"i swear the fucking god, if you don't come out bill..." richie shivered and breathed hot air to his scarf, trying to warm him more.

Finally, the door opened, revealing bill, in much more warmer clothes than richie.

"oh thank fuck!" richie sighed and took a step closer to bill, who's eyes widened at the word the darker hue used.

"suh-sorry, muh-muh-my mom wuh-was fuh-forcing me to puh-put on t-two wuh-woolly suh-socks"

richie rolled his eyes and just motioned bill to walk with him.

"duh-did you tuh-talk to eh-eddie?"

"no, i didn't have the chance. I mean, stan was supposed to show the way to his house...riley set it up, but then we bumped into henry and we chickened out" richie shrugged, mood immediately dropping at the mention of eddie.

bill's eyes turned curious. "stuh-stan? who's sss-stan?"

"it's the rabbi's son...he's the jew..." richie said, but as he didn't see any realization from bill's face, he gave up. "you'll see him"

Bill smiled. "wuh-well you'll suh-see eh-eddie too...muh-maybe you can get things suh-settled?"

richie nodded, feeling his stomach twist a million times. for the first time, he felt extremely scared and uncertain about talking to eddie.

The two boys arrived at school, just like other kids their age and few older ones. richie pushed the frosty doors and stepped into the semi warm hallways. Richie's eyes scanned the hallway, searching for the short, brunette boy.

After seeing nothing towards eddie, he sighed and they began walking towards their class and undressing themselves from the outdoor clothes. They hung them on the hangers and stepped into the dusty classroom, which hasn't had air since before Christmas.

The whole period was waste of time for richie. he only wanted to talk to eddie and a boring class of math wasn't doing any good at it.

not even talking about the fact that richie sucked at math.

eventually, for richie's luck, the bell rang.

"alright, remember to do the problem on page 20." the teacher said, smiling at all of her pupils.

the kids ran out of the class, leaving their backpacks on the backrests.

richie was the first out of the class, making it hard for bill to catch up with him.

"wuh-wait, ruh-ruh-richie" bill gripped richie's sleeve. The darker hue turned around, cheeks glowing red.
