"Alex, what the hell?! What the fuck are you doing? This is so bad!" Eddie panicked as he stared at a small grey kitten in Alex's hands.

"Why are you freaking out?" Alex frowned.

"You got me a fucking cat" Eddie hissed and pulled Alex into his apartment and looked into the hallway to see that nobody was there. Then he turned back to Alex and gave him a hard look. "I did not want you to get me one!"

"Hey it's your birthday gift" Alex offered the kitten to Eddie who took a step back and held his hands up.

"I didn't ask you to get me a cat!" Eddie yelled, where the kitten startled awake.

"But I thought you wanted a cat" Alex was confused.

"I did but that was a discussion what I was going to go through with Richie!" Eddie cried out. "Can you please just take him away?"

Alex bit his lip. "I'm sorry..."

"Great." Eddie sat on the kitchen chair and buried his face in his hands. "I did not need this right now. Things were going great with Richie. He's gonna kill me"

"If he really loves you, he'd accept a cat"

"Shut up, Alex!" Eddie yelled. The kitten meowed, making Eddie's heart melt. He sighed and reached his hands towards the little grey ball of fur. Alex let Eddie take him in his arms and rock him from side to side like a baby.

"God you're adorable" he sighed and pet the small kitten.

"If I take him back, they're gonna give him a shot" Alex said sadly. Eddie lifted a brow.

"A shot?"

Alex ran a finger across his neck, making Eddie let out a small squeal. He looked down at the kitten and gave him a light kiss on the forehead. "I won't let anyone hurt you, little one. You're safe."

"So you'll take it?" Alex smiled.

"Until now." Eddie nodded and looked up at the other boy. "Until I find a better home for him."

"I'm sorry I caused a mess" he apologized.

Eddie didn't reply. He just gave Alex an agreement look and them glanced back down at the cat. "I don't even have a bathroom for you"

"Oh they're all in my car. I got toys for him, his own toilet and bed. You don't gotta worry those things" Alex grinned.

"I'd like to remind you, that I'm only taking care of him until I can give him to a better home. Where every individual wants him"

"Yeah, I know. But let me just go get the stuff" Alex nodded and soon Eddie was left alone with the kitten.

"I should not name you, right?" Eddie asked from the kitten, who obviously couldn't understand a word Eddie was saying, but he still tilted his head. "I'll just get attached."

He put the kitten on the floor, where he sat and looked up at Eddie with wide eyes.

"Don't look at me like that" Eddie warned him. "I'm just your foster mommy until we can get a home for you. Maybe there's more cats and you can get friends"
