29. July ❀ age 5-6
It was Richie's birthday. Eddie had got him a present, even though his mom was a bit hesitant about it.
Since Richie hasn't met any other kids, (because there didn't live any other kids on the street) he had invited only Eddie, to his place. His mother had invited their relatives though, even though Richie protested. He wanted to celebrate only with Eddie and not his stupid relatives.
Maggie Tozier had promised that as soon as every guest has arrived and Richie had said hello to them, Richie could be with Eddie.
"Mommy, can I go already! Richie is probably waiti-"
"yeah, just wait a minute" Sonia said softly as he brushed his son's hair. "Do you have to gift?"
"Yes" he smiled and slightly shook the present in his hand.
"And your inhaler?"
"Right in my pocket, mommy" Eddie replied.
He hasn't told about his asthma attack, which happened few weeks ago with Richie. He was honestly scared that his mother would blame Richie (she would) and that she'd forbid Eddie to see Richie (100%).
"okay. All done Eddie bear. Do you want me to walk you to his house?" Sonia asked.
"No thanks, mommy. I can walk there by myself"
"Be careful and be back before sunset"
"I will I will" Eddie nodded and headed to the door.
"Bye Eddie!" Sonia exclaimed once more and waved at her son, who was now exiting the door.
"Bye mommy" he said fast and walked out. He skipped through his front yard and ran the street to Richie's house.
He knocked the door, smiling widely. Eddie heard footsteps running towards the door, until the white wooden door opened, revealing Richie, who immediately grinned.
"Eddie!"
"Happy birthday, Richie!" Eddie chuckled and wrapped his arms around Richie's neck. The boy with the glasses, smiled and hugged Eddie back.
Richie was glad that Eddie was early.
"Here's your gift, Richie. I really really really hope you like it!" Eddie exclaimed excitedly and shoved his present to Richie's arms.
Richie's eyes twinkled as he watched the package in his hands. "Eddie, you didn't have to"
"Of course I did! Now open it" Eddie giggled. They sat on the lowest stair and Eddie watched how Richie untied the pinkish ribbon from around the present.
"My mommy didn't have any blue ribbon, so I hope you don't mind the color" Eddie slightly blushed.
"I like pink. It's fine, Eds" Richie grinned and continued opening the gift. Finally the rapper was off, leaving a Walkman in Richie's hands.
His eyes were wide as the moon and his shaky hands picked the Walkman up. "Eddie why in the hell would you get me this?"
