4. August ❀ age 5-6

Eddie was owned by the bed. He had catch the cold after all, but Eddie didn't think it was because of the fact that he had ran in the rain. It's been almost a week anyways, so why would the cold come now?

"Eddie bear? Take your medicine or it gets worse" Sonia said as she saw that Eddie's pills were still on the nightstand.

"But I already feel better" Eddie said.

"You will feel better as long as you take your medicine, please Eddie. I know these things"

Eddie sighed and grabbed the two white pills from his nightstand and placed them in his mouth, grabbing his water glass after that. he took two sips from it, before setting it back down. "Can I see Richie?"

"What!? The most certainly not! You're sick, Eddie!" Sonia freaked.

"But it's been three days and I want to talk to him" Eddie pouted.

"A no is a no, eddie! You won't see him until you're healthy"

"But-"

"APPAP! No, I said! You won't see him" Sonia said, making Eddie shut his mouth.

"Now you need to rest. I'll be downstairs if you need me. but don't get out of bed or yell"

"Then how am I supposed to call you if I need something?" Eddie asked.

"You can...ring this bell" Sonia said and gave Eddie a bell, which she had pulled out of her pocket.

"Where did you get that?" Eddie asked.

"From the market with 90 cents. I thought this would come in handy. Now you'll rest and remember to stay hydrated. It's good"

Eddie nodded and took the bell his mother was holding out for him. Then his mother left, her steps echoing in the house. She closed the door and Eddie listened how she walked the stairs down.

As the steps had faded, he heard his name being yelled. "EDDIE!"

but it was faint. Like it was coming from faraway or underwater. Eddie glanced around his room, not seeing anything what could've caused the sound.

He heard it again. "EDS!"

Only Richie called him that.

He glanced at the window, seeing Richie bent out of the window, gripping the windowsill with his fingers and looking towards Eddie's window.

He gasped and jumped out of bed. He ran to the window and met Richie's eyes. Richie grinned and motioned Eddie to open the window. Eddie shook his head and spread his arms, showing that he couldn't.

Richie glared at Eddie and motioned harder. "OPEN THE WINDOW EDS!" he yelled.

Eddie bit his lip and looked at the lock in his window. He carefully opened it, feelings its cold metal against his fingers. He grabbed the handlebar and pulled it up. Well, at least he tried. Since the window didn't move anywhere. Eddie didn't think that the window has been opened in a while and now all the dirt and snow and ice had stiffen it close. He tried again, now he placed his other foot on the sill to grip the handlebar harder. It moved an inch, making a creaking sound.
