"that looks like a mammoth" eddie pointed at one cloud which was floating across the sky.

"that is clearly not a mammoth" richie chuckled and squinted his eyes, trying to see what eddie was seeing as they were laying next to each other on the grass.

"yes it is! the proboscis and everything" eddie looked at richie who shook his head. "why a mammoth? why not an elephant?"

"because elephants doesn't have tusks" eddie sat up and looked down at richie.

"you are a weird kid" richie sighed and put his hands under his head.

"i prefer you not to call me kid, due to the fact that you had your tongue in my throat not less then ten minutes ago" eddie groaned.

richie only chuckled and looked back up at the sky.

"you guys are so corny" stan sighed and dropped the binoculars from his eyes and wrote something in his book.

"it's called love, stan" ben called from the table and looked down at the chess board in front of him.

all of the teens were hanging around on bill's backyard, the hot summers day warming their skin.

"yeah, it's too lovey dovey for me" stan scrunched his nose and kept scribbling down on his notebook.

"wuh-what's that?" bill asked quietly from next to him, leaning onto stan's shoulder.

"robin. it's a bird, if you didn't know" stan said and looked to his side a bit.

"you're a really good d-drawer" bill smiled and looked at stan.

"thanks" stan blushed and forced himself to look away from bill's ocean blue eyes.

"please tell me eds and I aren't the only ones who sees that?" richie groaned and pointed at bill and stan.

"we see it too" mike nodded and scratched his neck as he was playing against ben on chess.

"hey rich?" eddie whispered, touching the other's arm.

"yes?" richie turned to the boy who was wearing a yellow shirt and another pair of way too small shorts. "what is it?"

"I'm leaving for my grandmother for the rest of the summer"

"what?!" richie exclaimed, catching few of their friends' attention.

"everything okay?" bev asked.

"yeah, it's fine" eddie assured and nodded to richie, making the other stand up. eddie pulled himself away from the others, so that they couldn't see them.

"i'll come back on september"

"but summer just started. it was gonna be our first summer as a couple" richie frowned. eddie smiled little and grabbed richie's hands. "i think we'll have plenty of summers together"

richie nodded, smiling uncomfortably. "where does your grandma live?"

"at a farm in new hampshire" eddie told. "but uhm, I was thinking...I mean, I'll come back in two months or so...it'd give us time to...think"
