"you invited who?" mike asked from beverly as they were once again sitting at a booth of harvest with the rest of their friends.
"carol. she's one of my friend who I've met during my time at my aunt. besides, she's just coming to say hi" bev smiled brightly "mike, I know you're hesitant towards new people, but-"
"nobody of us knows her" mike groaned. "she could be a....murderer"
"okay, you might be going too far now there, buddy" stan tapped mike's shoulder. "carol's probably really nice"
mike looked up at his friends sadly, until dropping his head back down.
"mike, are you okay?" ben asked while having his arm wrapped around bev. "you seem more stressed than...ever"
"I don't know" he shrugged. "I'm fine, yeah...just...it's senior year. normal stress. you all probably have the same problem"
eddie felt a rush of guilt go through his body. he looked down at his fingers. he didn't exactly know why he felt this way. he was mike's friend and he wanted to help the other, but no. instead mike felt stressed and eddie couldn't help but to take blame on it.
"what is it?" richie whispered into eddie's ear, where the other only nodded. "yeah, i'm okay"
"you look upset"
"no, i'm okay" eddie smiled up at richie, who looked hesitant.
"hey bev" a voice cut their staring contest off. all of the teens looked up at a tanned girl, who had thick black curly hair. she had big brown eyes with fluttering eyelashes. her dimples showing off as she smiled at the seven kids in front of her.
"carol" bev grinned and stood up to hug you. "so good to see you finally"
then bev pulled back, keeping her arm around carol. "guys, here's carol as you may have got that."
"hi" carol greeted the boys, who responded with stares and silence. it made a blush appear on carol's cheeks. she was almost sure they'd hate her.
eddie finally broke the silence. "hey, nice to meet you" he scooted over so carol could sit next to him.
"thanks" she said. "you're probably eddie, if i'm not totally wrong"
"yeah, how'd you know" eddie asked. "short"
"bev!" eddie glared at the red haired girl who shrugged and winked at eddie.
"and you're richie. the glasses, the black hair, tall" she looked at richie, who gave her a humble look. "guilty as charged"
"and you have to be ben" carol looked over at the boy who sat next to bev, hand wrapped around her shoulders. he only nodded and shot carol a smile.
"and you're...either stan or bill" carol moved onto a curly haired, hazelnut hue.
"make your choice" he said. carol thought for a moment, until smiling. "stan. bill doesn't have curly hair. and you don't stutter"
