"are you sure you're going to be okay?" richie asked as he was exiting the apartment. eddie nodded and pushed the taller one out.

"I'll be fine. this guy seemed really nice. he's not gonna murder me" eddie rolled his eyes. "trust me"

"alright, fine. but i'll be back in an hour, okay? when I come back, you better be alive" richie pointed at eddie, who smirked.

"yes, I promise" eddie kissed richie's cheek. "go now. have a fun day"

richie sighed and exited the apartment, leaving eddie in complete silence. even though eddie loved richie to death, he every once in a while enjoyed being alone.

well, alex was coming for eddie's tutoring any minute now, but eddie still enjoyed the moment without richie.

and then, suddenly there was a knock on the door. eddie flinched a little but still walked to the door and opened it, revealing alex, holding a physics book in his hands.

"hi eddie" he greeted and walked in as eddie motioned him to.

"hey" eddie smiled. "had a fun new years?"

"very" alex nodded. "spent it with my girlfriend"

eddie nodded and led them to the kitchen table. "my boyfriend's out for this hour so, we'll have complete privacy today"

"boyfriend?" alex lifted a brow and sat down.

for a moment eddie was scared. maybe alex was homophobic. maybe eddie should just call this off. he did not want to receive slurs because of his sexuality.

but then, alex's face turned to a smile. "that's pretty great. I love how you're so open about it"

eddie was surprised of this reaction but he wasn't complaining. not one bit. so, he sat down in front of alex and gave alex a smile. "thanks for not judging"

"hey, who can I judge?" he chuckled a bit. "now, shall we?"

"yes, of course" eddie nodded and turned to alex's book and scooted his chair a bit closer. "let's start"

the first 30 minutes passed pretty quickly. alex made some clear progress already, even though it was their first tutoring session. eddie was proud of him.

"do you want to take a small break?" eddie asked him, standing up and heading towards the kitchen. "I could make us a cup of tea"

"yeah, tea would be nice, thank you" alex nodded and pushed the book aside for a moment.

"so...this girlfriend of yours..." eddie looked over his shoulder as he filled a pot with water.

"i'm pretty sure she's gonna break up with me" alex shrugged.

"woah what?" eddie choked out. "that's not what I was expecting"

"yeah well...it never really worked out. maybe the first two days of our relationship was amazing, but then it just started getting boring. and she probably has feelings towards this other guy...and it's honestly fine. I've been growing apart from her anyways" alex said bluntly.
