I convinced Yoongi that I would take care of everything and sent him off. He anyway needed to be at the basketball court and I just wished that I could go with him.

When I returned to the backstage, everyone was waiting for the results to be announced. We were the last group to perform, so the things were soon about to end. We all gathered around Miss Diane.

“You guys did amazingly well. Specially Yoongi ... I wonder where that boy is ...”

“He went for the match madam,” I filled in her.

“Yes, I nearly forgot. You all did very well and even if it weren’t for Mandy, we would have looked hideous on stage without adjusting ourselves to the characters we played. All in all, no matter how the result turns out, we always have chances. So cheer up! I am so happy and proud of you guys and girls.”

“Yah! I came back. I am so full of swag that my coach is also full of swag. He could get our match shifted by 10 mins with the consent of our opponent team. Seems one of their players got sick so ...”

Min Yoongi said so cooly.

I smirked. Pffft full of swag.

“Come join Min Yoongi!!!” Miss Diane pulled us all together and gave us a group hug.

Miss Diane was praising Yoongi. This was something I thought I would never witness.

Even Mandy and I were so repulsed at the beginning of the year at each other and now everybody is accepting me. How fast do perceptions change indeed! You cannot actually judge a person by first impressions. My first impression about Yoongi was so bad. I never dreamt that he would end up being my boyfriend!

We went and sat in the audience. They were about to declare the results.

“THE WINNER OF THE COMPETITION IS ...” the announcer said.

Ji Eun squeezed my hand so hard that I wondered if she had scratched me for real.

“... ROMEO – JULIET!”

Everything went silent for me as everyone clapped and stood up from their seats. It was a standing ovation! It was really hard to get one.

“The best actress award goes to ....”

The announcer was disturbed by the panel of judges.

“Wait, I am extremely sorry. There is a separate new award that came into being. The best Lead- Chemistry award...”

What kind of an award was that?

“... it is where we analyse the chemistry and interaction between the two lead roles and award the best... So, the best Lead-Chemistry award goes to the couple who brilliantly performed the key tragic roles with such passion that made the panel of judges overwhelmed with their talents and even the movements and voice projection were on point. Kristene Andrews and Min Yoongi!”

Ji Eun was pinching me. I wished she would stop.

I know that it was so unexpected, but the life’s best moments happen at unexpected times as well.

I could feel Miss Diane patting my shoulder and Yoongi entwining his hand in mine and pulling me to the stage.

Did we really make it?

Why were things in slow motion?

As we accepted the award, everybody clapped so hard and I could faintly hear my friends cheering the school! Yoongi did the most of the acceptance speech and I contributed by a line or two.
