chapter 8 - closer

~Johnny's POV~
i turned around and saw Brandon. Kenzie was shaking like crazy and i figured Brandon was the one who had hurt her.
J: did you hurt Kenzie?
B: are you seriously asking me that
J: I'm going to ask you this again. did you hurt Kenzie?
i got closer and closer to him with each step i took and he backed away with each step he took and he stopped when he crashed into the lockers.
B: okay fine. i slapped her one time. big deal
i couldn't believe the words that were coming out of his mouth but i knew i couldn't hurt him. not in front of Kenzie. i would scare her away.
J: listen to me. you lay a finger on her again and I'll put you in a grave
B: okay okay I'm sorry chill
Brandon ran away fast and i turned around to see that Kenzie was still curled up in a ball and i knelt down beside her again.
J: hey you okay now?
she didn't say anything but she nodded and then the bell rung.
J: i can walk you home if you feel safer with that choice
she looked at me for a few seconds and then nodded slowly. i got up and she slowly got up and then we walked out of the school and we started walking and we reached her house and her stepdad was standing outside.
S: hello again Johnny
J: uh hi i was just walking Kenzie home because she got a little scared at school today
S: what do you mean?
J: a boy slapped her and she got really scared but i protected her
S: you protected her? thank you
i didn't like the way his voice sounded one bit. and Kenzie was standing there shaking.
J: uh i should be getting home now but I'll see you tomorrow Kenzie
i walked off.
~Kenzie's POV~
the second Johnny went in his house i knew what was about to happen. i was about to get punished for being around Johnny again. and i knew i was right when he dragged me by my hair into the house but forget to shut the front door and he dragged me upstairs to my room and he threw me down hard.
S: i told you that were mines! i told you to stay away from him!
he hit me over and over again and didn't stop
~Johnny's POV~
i went to my room and felt weird so i decided to open my window to look at the beautiful view but when i opened my window the view i saw wasn't beautiful. it wasn't beautiful at all. what i saw was...
