she said while breathing heavily and shaking. oh god i was joking. she must've took it the wrong way because of what she's been through
J: no no Kenzie i was joking. i didn't think you would take it the wrong way when i said it. Lauren's not getting punished. it's a joke
she nodded but slowly pulled her hands away
J: uh guys can you leave us alone?
L: yeah of course but mom said she wants to talk to all of us in the living room later
J: okay
Lauren and Carson walked out the room and i shut the door and Kenzie had sat down on the edge of my bed and i sat down beside her
J: I'm really sorry i scared you. i promise you I'm not like him at all
she nodded and looked away and i slowly and gently held her hand
J: I'm so sorry. i promise you that i won't ever hurt a single soul
K: you hurt my stepdad
J: that was self defense. i was protecting you
K: you still hurt him
J: Kenzie i did it to protect you
K: but you promised me you wouldn't ever hurt anyone and you did
J: Kenzie I'm sorry i was just-
K: you hurt someone Johnny and that someone was my stepdad
J: he's been hurting you for years kenzie. don't act like he didn't deserve it and besides that's not as worse as all the things he's done to you
K: i don't care Johnny you still hurt him which makes you just like him
i tried to stay calm the whole time but when she said i was like him i couldn't stay calm and i stood up
J: listen here okay i did it to protect you Kenzie but I'm nothing like him! i did it for you because I'm in love with you! he didn't give two craps about you but i do! i love you so stop saying I'm like him because I'm not!
