~Johnny's POV~
K: I'm not testifying against him
i looked down at her as she said softly to me. why is she denying to testify against him? that doesn't make sense
M: did she just talk?
L: yeah i was a little shocked as well mom
J: why not Kenzie? you have to
K: I'm not doing it
J: Kenzie you have to. that's the only way he'll go to jail
K: exactly and i know that no matter what happens he's going to come back to hurt me so i can't testify against him
i sighed and stroked her hair and said softly to her
J: he's not ever going to come back to hurt you. i already talked to the lawyer while i was in the hospital and made sure everything was okay before i talked to you about it and she said if you testified then he'll be in jail for awhile and she said when he gets out then we're going to make sure you're safe and away from him. he won't touch you or even come near you
K: but Johnny i-
i gently put my finger over her lips and stroked her hair and said softly to her
J: shh Kenzie just stay calm please. everything is going to be okay. i promise you that i will never ever let him hurt you again and you're improving so much. you're healing from this and he's gone and out of sight now. don't worry about him okay?
she smiled a bit and nodded
J: oh come on you can smile better than that
i was a little afraid about what would happen to her when i did this but i...
