chapter 56 - social services

~Johnny's POV~
L: I'm sorry. it's not my fault. please don't hate me
she said really fast
J: Lauren what did you do? where's Kenzie?
she sighed
L: social services just got her
J: what? why?
L: well after you scared her she ran out the house and me and Carson ran after her and she was running really fast down the street and she bumped into the social services lady and i don't know what else happened but the lady grabbed her arm and started walking to her car and we ran over to them and they said she needed a legal guardian if she wasn't going to stay with her stepdad and her mom isn't here
J: well what about mom?
L: they said they only reason Kenzie could stay is if mom had signed some legal papers to have the right to take care of her which mom is going to do right now. she left a few minutes ago and dad is staying here with us
J: god this is all my fault. i wasn't there for her. i screwed up everything
i balled my fists up
L: John stay calm please. Kenzie will come back but mom said stay calm because she doesn't want you passing out again
i sighed and sat back down on the bed
J: this is all my fault
L: John you can't blame yourself
J: it's all my fault Lauren
L: look John it's not your fault now stop beating yourself up about this
J: i let her down. i was supposed to be there for her and i let her down
Lauren sighed and hugged me and i hugged her back
L: stop beating yourself up about this. Kenzie will be back before you know it okay?
J: okay thanks Lauren
L: of course John
J: can i be alone now?
L: yeah sure
she got up and started to walk out the room and then she turned around
L: hey John?
J: yeah?
L: i...
what will Lauren say?
