chapter 52 - eavesdropping

~Lauren's POV~
me and Carson had walked back in the house and we were about to walk into Johnny's room until we heard Kenzie and i leaned up against the door and so did Carson and we both started eavesdropping and listening to their conversation
J: i-i...
i wonder what they're talking about
J: Kenzie...i-i love you
L: aww
C: shh be quiet
i put my hand over my mouth and leaned up against the door more and whispered
L: i can't hear anything else
C: me either
Carson had whispered to me and then all of a sudden the door opened and me and Carson both fell
J: well well well. if it isn't the lovebirds
Kenzie giggled and me and Carson slowly got up
L: so uh you found Kenzie
J: don't change the subject. what have i told you about listening to my conversations Lauren?
L: to not listen to your conversations
J: exactly and what did you just do
L: listened to your conversation
J: and now you know what your punishment is right?
~Kenzie's POV~
punishment? Johnny punishes Lauren?  thinking about it had me shaking because i hoped Lauren didn't get punished at all. i hated getting punished by my stepdad. i kept shaking and then they all looked at me
J: Kenzie you okay?
i shook my head and kept shaking and tried opening the window quickly and Johnny walked over to me and grabbed my hand and i flinched and pulled my hand away
J: Kenzie calm down and tell me what's wrong. it's okay
i started looking around the room nervously and Johnny grabbed both of my hands and held them
J: Kenzie i need you to calm down. you know i would never ever hurt you. please calm down and tell me what's wrong
i squeezed his hands and closed my eyes and took a deep breath and then i slowly opened my eyes
J: good you're calm now tell me what's wrong please
K: i...
what will Kenzie say?
